We showed up at lunchtime on a weekday, plenty of tables were available outside in the shade overlooking a terracotta urbanisation and the Mediterranean Sea beyond. Immediate attentive service meant the menu del dia was quickly handed to us. There was a choice between three starters and at least eight main dishes with varying degrees of heat from mild to hot & spicy. We could also select either naan bread or rice. Traditional Indian mango kulfi was the dessert, or coffee. All for 10€ per head. The dishes were cooked as they should be, the vegetable samosas were stuffed with mixed vegetables (not just flavoured potato) and accompanied by a selection of sauces - mild mango, raita and a spicy tomato sauce. My chicken masala was smooth, creamy and mild with big chunks of chicken. The chicken dhansak enjoyed by my husband was spicy, the thick sauce with onions and lentils coated several tender chunks of chicken and the freshly cooked naan bread was to die for. Previously we had only ordered takeaway from Mini India, now l totally recommend the sitdown...
Read moreThis restaurant is not located in the busy hub and is above a row of supermarkets and shops. However, we use it very frequently, on warm and less windy days the outside terrace is a lovely place for ‘Al Fresco’ dining. Inside it is very smart looking, yet informal. We have tried many dishes off the extensive menu, from the Rogan Josh, Bhuna’s and Korma’s to Chicken Schaslik and Boona Kebab and have ‘never’ been disappointed with any of it. They will spice it to the heat you prefer if you ask them too. All the staff are so very friendly and attentive. I guess there is always a chance of them having the bad ‘off day’ now and again, however, in all the time we have been going there over the last 9 years, it, thankfully has never happened to us. Worthy of note, before coming to this restaurant with some visiting friends, I never used to eat, or like, Indian food 🤷♂️Personally speaking, I can highly...
Read moreSome of my friends have gone and liked the food at Mini India. We have many Indian restaurants where we came from in the US and lots of Indian friends who cooked for us. So I had from the Punjabi area to southern India. I told the waiter I would like my food spicy. This is the first time since I have been here that my tastebuds have been overjoyed. It hit the mark! Also every other food we ordered had a well balance of seasoning. It tastes what we are used to. The lunch menu is a good deal to get a variety of food for a decent price. Can only recommend it. Everything we had was clean, glasses, utensils etc. Service was also very pleasant. The surrounding are ok. It is in a small shopping mall. Hence the 4 but other than that I highly recommended for you to dine there, especially if you like to stimulate your tastebuds. Ask for spicy or as the say in...
