Bamboo Beach Club — Restaurant in Marbella

We were visiting the nearby beach for the first time and this small restaurant and bar looked lovely for lunch, just across the way. At first, staff were friendly and my husband had a really nice coffee. We were renting sun beds for the beach here. We were seated with a nice view of the beach.

However, the whole experience declined quite quickly.

I ordered the chicken curry and my husband the white fish grilled. My curry came, Thai style and looked and smelled great. I ate some of the chicken and thought it had a strange texture. The next piece I took I cut into and it was completely raw and cold. Not slightly under done, completely raw. I was horrified as I had already eaten a piece. I called the waiter over and I explained - I was also embarrassed as I don’t like making a fuss. He asked me if I ‘would like it more well done?!’ I tried to explain that it wasn’t underdone, it was completely raw. I explained that I could get salmonella poisoning which I was really upset about as we had a wedding in a few days. The waiter offered to make me a new one and I accepted as I was hungry.

It arrived and was okay, but it looked like the same dish that had been re cooked and the chicken cut smaller, not freshly made. I was put off and couldn’t eat any more after that. There was no apology.

In the meantime, we had the bread which had been offered to us. I took one roll and one butter, but on lifting the other roll for my husband, there was an open and used butter portion underneath and clearly this basket had been another persons un eaten bread. It was so awful. Tried to explain to the waiter but he didn’t understand.

We asked for the bill, expecting my dish to have been removed considering it was raw chicken. I queried this politely and was told because they re made the dish for me that I had to pay. I was really shocked and explained that that doesn’t matter - basic food safety standards were breached and the least you can do is remake. It was not that the food wasn’t to taste. I once again explained that in a few hours I might get food poisoning.

I was told there was nothing they could do. Again, not even an apology. Really we were quite shocked and upset. Of course I’m not looking for a free ride, but imagine paying €18.50 for a meal that may have poisoned you. I didn’t want to make a scene or enemies as we are staying nearby so we paid, but really it was awful.

I should add that the restaurant was very quiet when we were there - I can’t imagine what might happen if it were busy.

Luckily I was okay, but it could have ended much worse. Avoid this place and walk a few steps down to some nicer places with better...

One of the worst dining experiences we’ve had in Marbella. Nobody greeted us when we arrived, so after standing around awkwardly we just seated ourselves. It then took almost 10 minutes before anyone bothered to bring us menus.

The paella mixta was okay, but service was shockingly bad. With five waiters on duty and a half-empty restaurant, you’d expect at least basic attention — instead, they stood around doing nothing while guests were left waiting.

To make matters worse, some frustrated guests actually left without paying because they couldn’t get service. This left what seemed to be the owner furious — and unbelievably, he then started speaking negatively about guests to other diners. That level of disrespect and unprofessionalism is absolutely unacceptable and should never happen in any restaurant.

If you’re passing by on your way to or from Puerto Banús, do yourself a favor and keep walking. This place is a waste of time, and we will definitely not be...

After a long stroll in Puerto Banus , we came across a lovely place BAMBOO BEACH CLUB. There is wide range of ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTFUL AND FLAVORFUL FOOD 🥘 🥗🍤🍨🍤🍤🍲🥗🍕🍗🥩We especially enjoyed PAELLA 🥘, fresh fish , gambas 🦐 al pil pil.. We definitely come back again to try more meal.
