Trattoria Il Mare — Restaurant in Marbella

OMG this was one of the worst (vegan) food experiences I had in a loooooong time. We ordered some pizza no cheese for me with lots of veggies and a pasta for my boyfriend with shrimps and a tomato salad with pesto. First of all the vegan pizza was plain, boring, made without love and just horrible. It was not a pizza (aside the discussion a pizza needs cheese or not, in my opinion it does not, but you should make something amazing with veggies, herbs, nuts etc. But that is a whole other discussion ;-) ). The veggies were thrown on the pizza, just plain without marinade and any kind of culinair influence. Dry and just horrible. Before you think it was just me, the vegan girl that has something to complain in a very NON vegan friendly restaurant. My boyfriend ordered a shrimp pasta. He told me it was sour and plain as well. Honestly, there was no effort in the food, felt like a cheap place (but it was not). I asked for a tomato salad with pesto and asked if the pesto was vegan. They told me it was, but after trying I asked again and guess what? CHEESE. So please Trattoria Il Mare, please put effort, love and flavors in the food and please, just put some nice animal free pasta, salad and pizza on your menu. Pffff I just do not believe that the people in your kitchen and pizza bar are actual chefs. Because they sure as hell did...

We had dinner at this amazing friendly place with great and most friendly staff. Incredible that the staff still needs to wear the Mask !!!! Absolutely unnecessary and more guests around us tell the waiters to put off their mask. It would be great to see there faces again and as a customer we get the feeling that we are still ill.

Fabulous meal. 20 min walk out of the Banus main area along the promenade. Well worth it, high quality Italian, amazing pizza and pasta, house wines really nice and such good value for such a lovely spot, you can’t go wrong...
