The service was very slow then the wrong wine came initially . We wanted to order more food after our first course , it took ages to get any ones attention we tried 4 different staff before ordering. However we were chilled it was a lovely setting fabulous weather. Later I started to get very hot my skin was burning . We moved to the next unprepared shady table two feet away. just to finish our drinks. But were told very brusquely 'this table is reserved you cant sit here' . There were no reserved signs on the table. Other tables further away were empty and in the shade but these werent offered to us as an alternative. We said we were planning on leaving but needed a cooler place to sit as we were burning. This provided no resolution.
We complained that we were being spoken as if we were criminals and that the service had been slow and inattentive . The waiter who introduced himself as ' Our waiter ' denied this saying we were wrong . But this had been our experience . We asked to speak to the manager who turned out to be 'our waiter' ! We paid the bill over €80 for 2 starters 2 mains 2 glasses of wine and water. We went into the fuerte hotel to register our concerns . After waiting over 20 mins to speak to a ' hotel manager' and having first spoken to 2 seperate staff menbers we left ,feeling very frustrated .
My advice would be go to one of the other informal beach bars they are cheap and much...
Read moreTerribly disappointed by this restaurant. We went there because of the excellent Google note, unfortunately our experience was underwhelming. we are in Marbella, it is full of turists, however the waiter do not speak a word of English there were very few details on dishes we ordered, whether it was on the menu or from the staff itself and the food was served at the table without a word either our dishes were average (at the most) which is pretty shocking given the prices. For 21 € you have a calamari with no side sold as a main course and then for 9 € you have a (disgusting, see pic enclosed) chocolate and pistachio tart too big for 1 person. Very hard to understand the consistency of the menu there were no choices for soft drinks, except a virgin mojito. I mean come on your only fresh juice is an orange juice? we booked informing the restaurant of our coming with an infant of 6 months old : there was no infrastructure for our baby. We had to change her at our table as there were no changing tables at the toilets of the restaurant In the end, we left hungry and disappointed. We’ll not recommend this restaurant and not...
Read moreAfter two days of partying we were looking to chill and to try the beach in Marbella town. If only we managed to get a table or a bed at Soleo. And thank goodness we didn’t. First we were told that beds were only for hotel residents which we found out was a lie because there is a sign that says that non residents can pay €25. We set ourselves on the beach and decided to have a bottle of wine so thought to give the place a second chance. They told us that we could only sit at the bar for drinks (bar being a bench basically). We said that we wanted to sit at a table and there were two girls having orange juice so it was clearly possible. We were told that it wasn’t. So we left and walked along the beach to find Mahiki, gorgeous place with polite staff and nice beds, where we had that bottle AND great food! Bottom line, clearly Soleo is not an actual beach club and staff is really rude and uptight (with no reason, it’s hardly the Ritz Carlton, and Ritz-Carlton staff is lovely by the way). As we are here enjoying our follow-up cocktails at Mahiki, I can’t help thinking that Soleo does not like...
