Really confused by the positive reviews praising the taste of food at this restaurant. It is certainly not the best Indian food.. For all the spices in the Indian spice rack, the flavour of our meals was so disappointing. It wasn’t bad like where you couldn’t eat it, but it also didn’t taste like anything you could be glad to pay for. It was worse because our waiter boasted of the quality of the food beforehand justifying the prices when I questioned the size of the naan bread. The Naan bread is not really naan bread, it’s thicker and doesn’t go well with the sauce. Add rice and the littler flavour the curry had is completely diluted… The service, while friendly feels pretentious and arrogant after the fact, considering how bland the taste was. Marbella pasta with just oil garlic and parsley packs more flavour. The atmosphere is nice and the beachfront location is great. Personally I feel that this restaurant does not do Indian food justice and people who are none the wiser are being duped into believing this is ‘authentic’. Because of this, I also cannot justify the price. Sorry Jaipur, not good enough. I’ve had better Indian...

As a regular customer, I would like to respond to Wendy Gidman's review. Rarely have I seen a person with such a disgusting manner. I was shocked with here very ordinary behaviour. I sat 2 tables next to this couple yesterday. They had made a reservation via The Fork, but were initially unable to provide confirmation. The owner asked about the confirmation. He was polite until this Wendy opened her vulgar mouth and said: I will show you, idiot! Wendy, you are the type of woman who takes advantage of situations and then posts bad reviews. And then as if it was aggression towards women. I think there's something loose with her. How stupid can you be if you don't bring confirmation of your reservation with you. I have never seen such a situation in all the years I have been going to this restaurant. And then take and post photos without permission. I visit this restaurant for more than 10 years. I know the staff and the owner. Very pleasant and polite people. Food is lovely! It is really a pity that rude people like Wendy try to damage the reputation of this...

Short story: No, DO NOT visit this place

Long story:

Travelled to many countries and had food in many Indian restaurants. Sure a lot of places had good food but almost all of them had great service, wonderful hospitality and the warmth you miss from back home.

Jaipur at Marbella has decent food but the person at the helm, Mr. Thakur is arrogant and rude. He oversold us telling us that the quantity we initially ordered wont be enough. He said that we will need to order all sabjis and dal at the same time since he wants his table to be not occupied for long and there will soon be enough crowd, even though there were many empty tables. When we asked for containers, instead of just telling us they are chargeable, he acted haughty. How you say it is equally important as what you say.

He didn’t get a proper check and just scribbled it down on a paper. When we asked for details, he told us “Do you not know how to read Hindi?” It was definitely not written in Hindi Sir.

A little courtesy and honesty will be very much appreciated.

Definately...

A homey Indian restaurant in Marbella with kind staff and a stunning view of the Sea. Majority of the menu is naturally gluten free and there are many food options available for those who are vegetarian, vegan, or have gluten allergies. The owner of the restaurant is a very social and generous man. Not only does he inquire about your taste in food, ensure that your food will be cooked safely without allergens, but he also cooks in the kitchen as well. It is delightful to watch someone so invested in their business in multiple ways. The food was absolutely delicious, mouth-watering, and good for the soul. This is a MUST go to restaurant for those who are gluten free or are simply a foodie in search of great spots in Marbella that should be talked about more! The flavors and spices in the chicken, meat, and potatoes were incredible; I kept wanting to eat more despite being full!

We came here very hungry and though we filled up, it wasn’t anywhere near expectations. We got chicken tikka masala with 2 naan, 2 mango lassi, and a biryani. Let’s start with taste, the owner was very nice but the food tasted like it was warmed up from a frozen food packet. Maybe the presentation made other folks more apt to enjoying but it didn’t phase us. The lassi was ok, expensive for the small glasses. The tikka masala had a decent amount of chicken but didn’t have the right flavor. The biryani seemed like flavoring was just added to plain rice. I think the worst part is we ordered two naan, look at the picture and tell me those tiny slices are two naan, no way. I wouldn’t recommend this place. Lastly, when it came to the bill, the owner micharged us by adding an extra 5euro to the bill. At that point I just wanted out so I paid and left.

Women beware!! OMG seriously, assaulted by the manager/owner in a verbal dispute re an online booking discount with the world’s most explosive, volatile, unhinged and rude man who runs this Fawlty Towers excuse for a dining establishment. It was almost entertaining in retrospect to reflect on how he went from unreasonable to violent in minutes- swiped my phone out of my hand when I tried to show him the 30% confirmation offer I’d got from my fork online booking. He got so aggressive I asked the staff to call the police. They didn’t. Thankfully the owner is a very small man and my husband was with me. I wouldn’t go here in a. All female party with an online discount. Food reasonable but very little meat. We eat a lot of curry & that wasn’t the reason for the single star.
