The worst service I have ever experienced in a restaurant, and as a result the owner only charged us for our wine. Such a shame, as the setting and decor is beautiful and the food that did actually make it to our table was nice. We sat down and ordered all of our food including some bread and olives as appetisers - at least 20 mins later finally the bread arrived but no olives. 10 minutes later we are informed there are no olives. Then 1 of the 3 starters we ordered came out (Gilda's) but they only brought 2 units when we had ordered 3 with no explanation or apology just dumped on our table. Then our 2nd starter (Tuna carpaccio) came out which was nice and then the main course out before we had even finished (still no 3rd starter at this point). Our main (fish) was filleted in front of us and served, but we waited and waited but the potatoes we ordered to come with it never came, so we ended up eating our fish cold as we were so hungry. We finished our main and then potatoes came out which we turned away and then, as we were getting ready to go out final starter came out. Throughout this entire time the Manager was dismissive about our requests and took zero responsibility - blaming his other staff from the kitchen, the doorman, and the junior waiters.
This place has real potential. But if they don't learn to MANAGE effectively they will lose any chances of...
Read moreI cannot recommend this restaurant. Our evening was a series of disappointments from start to finish.
We were seated outdoors with no heater and were freezing all night. They were out of the first two red wines we ordered. The waiter eventually recommended a third, which felt like we were being steered to an option they needed to sell. The first time we couldn’t finish the wine and got half bottle left. The main event, the paella, was inedible. The rice was unacceptably hard and undercooked. When we raised this concern, the waiter responded with a shocking level of arrogance. He told us, in a deeply sarcastic and rude tone, "This is how we do paella, Spanish paella is like that, this is very good."
I have eaten paella at many Spanish restaurants in my life. I know what good paella is, and this was not it. The combination of terrible food, poor planning (running out of multiple wines), and condescending service made for a truly awful night. Save your money and...
Read more06/09 loved our first night so much, we came back for a 2nd, before heading home. There was an event on this night and sadly service was nowhere as good as the night previous. I my opinion, a restaurant should be able to manage it's bookings. From seating to getting food was an hour. I would recommend fish over meat options, as the previous night's fish was so good. The setting is still beautiful, the food was decent, but what had brought us back was the service and there were just not enough people to support the special event and separate bookings. However, special events are likely not every weekend, but check before you go.. 05/09 Absolutely loved this restaurant, the food, the service, the decor , it was all perfect. Only open since June, but by this time next year, I am guessing you will have to book in advance. My sole was professionally deboned at the table and tasted divine.
I wish I had...
