Well, the food is just superb. The owner is all about high quality ingredients in the cuisine and the cocktails. The choice of spirits, liqueurs and wine show a real dedication by the owner in finding the best at each price point. The service is just how you'd wish it could be. We've been 3 times now and the food and drinks we've tried are all top notch! The surprising thing is that this restaurant does not charge very much for the dishes or the drinks. I can tell by the attitude of the owner that they've never let anything other than real quality leave their kitchen. Places like this are difficult to discover when you are new to an area, so we feel very lucky that we stepped into this restaurant. Worthy of a Michelin star I'd wager if it was all about the food, but it's appeal for me and charm comes from it not being slick and shiny like a super posh place. Instead, it's rather bohemian I would say, relaxed and delightful, with the feel and atmosphere of a good beach bar. Healthy tasting food, skilfully balanced in flavour, tastes that make you sigh with pleasure. I seriously believe that the other restaurants around this area could learn a lot from this place cause they've nailed it at...
Read moreGreat little tapas bar, very friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to serve us at a very late hour. We liked it so much we revisited several times during our holiday. It’s a very small concern, but the food is exceptional and very well priced. I particularly recommend to the local goat cheese salad, Iberian ham and tomato salsa and the clams. Most of the seating is outside with small undercover canopy. Even though it’s close to the road, once inside you don’t notice it. Lunch and evening meals are served on most days so check with the staff when they are open. I definitely recommend this little place, stop for a cold beer when passing, I promise you’ll...
Read moreGem of a place off the beaten track. Fran is a very friendly host, nothing is too much trouble and he even made a local Spanish dish for some friends (with a days notice) - waiter George is equally friendly and very attentive - lovely food, their tapas are to die for especially the aubergines which I thoroughly recommend. Their glasses are huge, but they need to be to accomodate the enormous ice cubes. Extremely reasonably priced, well worth a visit (or in my case, three!!) - so next time you are passing by Chambao Beach on the way to the bridge to cross over the main road, please give it a second look, I promise you will not be...
