My wife fancied eggs Benedict this morning and we chose a new place to try, it was empty when we walked in and we were told we could sit anywhere. No problem at all. We were welcomed heartedly and presented with menus. We ordered the drinks straight away and then ordered food. My wife ordered the eggs Benedict and myself and my son ordered the scrambled eggs. I said please don’t overcook them as I hate rubbery eggs. I also asked her does it come with toast and she replied yes. Within ten minutes the food arrived, served on cold plates,so the food was lukewarm and the eggs were overcooked and not scrambled correctly, I think it must be a Spanish thing not to crack eggs into a bowl and whisk them up to an airy consistency and then add them into a pot with a little cream and butter. Maybe they need to learn it? So the bill came to €46.70 for three people. So it’s not the cheapest place in town. So if you want decent scrambled eggs,this isn’t the place. My wife’s poached eggs were strange to say the least! One completely overcooked and one completely undercooked!! Served with a Parmesan cheese creamy sauce that was very runny. Quaint little cafe around the centre of old town Mijas. We appreciate how the outdoor cafe area is in a little courtyard/"nook" away from the busy street. You get a very modern, calm, peaceful vibe while dining here. We just stopped for iced drinks (matcha frappe and a vanilla frappe) but many people had sandwiches and other items which looked delicious. It's a lot less busy than the other cafes on the main streets of the old town, but enough patrons to not get that eerie/empty feeling.
