Very disappointing. We were recommended this place by our taxi driver, and figured the mixed reviews meant we would still probably get a good meal. Sadly, it was not to be. We ordered two starters to share, and a mixed paella for our main course. We were warned that the paella would take 30-40 minutes, which is to be expected for a freshly cooked paella. So far, all good.

After our first starter arrived, and had been consumed, the paella arrived. It had barely been 30 minutes since we ordered, so seemed a little rushed - and where was our other starter? We’d assumed it was being served tapas style, but it never showed.

Unfortunately, the paella was undercooked - the rice still a little crunchy, still a lot of unabsorbed liquid in the pan, and worst of all, the mussels were still cold from the fridge.

We flagged this to a passing waiter… who proceeded to pick out the mussels still in the pan and take them away.

I was quite taken aback by this - and concerned about the risk of food poisoning from undercooked shellfish - so flagged our original waiter, who arranged to take the dish away. He, however, was not surprised that the mussels were cold - he’d added them himself!

Clearly, something went wrong in the kitchen. I suspect the entire dish needed 10-15 minutes more on the heat after the mussels were added.

Our replacement steaks were well cooked and tasty… but we were totally ignored by the staff for the rest of the evening, and charged full price for the steaks, starters and drinks - thankfully, the waiter did not put up a fuss when I pointed out that one of the starters never arrived.

The staff could have been a little more friendly after the mistake - it was very noticeable that they chatted with every table except us. And I’d love to know what went wrong with the paella - or if this is some regional variation that is supposed to be served with chilled mussels.

Overall, I’d recommend avoiding this place.

I’d also highlight, as other reviews have mentioned, that the bread and aioli brought at the start of the meal is not complimentary - we too were...

Bad first impression here. We were four girls and asked if we could sit on a another table because we didnt want to sit so tight to the other table, especially when it was a lot of other tables (not reserved) Got an half-angry "No" as answer. Didn't understand why.

Difference to the other resturantes in the area we quickly noticed the price was higher here. One of the staff was very cute (young man) and polite. He smiled and that made the experience better.

They put some bread and garlic sauce on the table - that we did not order. I have experienced having to pay for bread like that before, even though we didnt order it, and we did. (Kind of test..) and that pulls the service down. It seems like we get it for free, but it is not. Really sneaky..

I really enjoyed my dish - chicken with peppersauce, but my friend really disliked the chicken, she felt she was eating rubber. First time I have heard two of the girls that love food, really complain about their food.

However we got a lot of food for the money. They wanted to give it 1 star. I give them 2 mostly for all our experience - first impression and making us pay for bread we didnt order. (Did it eat though so ofc we payed)

The resturante in itself wasnt really good looking either - felt that we...

Very disappointing, seeing a lot of good reviews I gave this place a chance but regret doing so.

On arrival everything went quite well and were seated and some bread was put on our table before we ordered anything, note: no mention of this costing was mentioned so it was a surprise to be included on the bill at €3.90 at the end.

Food did arrive very fast (too fast I think to be completely fresh). It was distinctly mediocre, no flavour per se and smothered with garlic butter. The sides of a baked potato in foil and some dry carrots or over cooked broccoli didn’t improve things.

The service did seem very hurried and I presume the owner, a guy wandering around in black chefs garb, seemed to know some people and be very clique but for us couldn’t care less.

The crowning achievement was the owner embarrassing us when we left at the end and insinuate we had not sufficiently paid was very disrespectful. We had paid and had even left a meagre tip, even paying for the bread we weren’t expecting to be charged for!

If you want authentic Spanish food, there are many quality examples on the island, just not this place. I suggest you...

We went here on recommendation. It IS a nice place, with plenty of parking. We stood at the door and, although met with several waiters eyes, were not acknowledged or welcomed or told; 'be right with you'. We had rung in a phone booking earlier in the day, but they had no record of it? They got us seated in a corner. We were given bread and aioli. We didn't order this, but were charged extra. I HATE that! The food was good, but not what I'd call exceptional. I'd had FAR better service, food and prices at a place in Puerto Rico called La Cantina. When the bill came, it was more that the norm we had experienced, two reasons were the extra for the bread, plus they charge the extra tax separately - something most restaurants now realise is seen as sneaky. Anyway, it was ok, but I wouldn't go out of my way to return.
