Haveli — Restaurant in Mogán

We are late to the whole Indian food experience but have been working away at a fair few Indian restaurants now since our new fond affair with the Indian flavours over the past year or so. This will be our 4th Indian in the Puerto Rico Area. This restaurant wasn’t on our list but a friend who lives here told us to go try it we won’t be disappointed. Thankfully we listened as the food is amazing. The decor is very fresh and kitchen is behind glass so you can see them cooking. It’s run by Indian people so they are vested in what they do and it comes out in the food. The menu is delightful and so much choice but well explained out for some of the less experienced people to help them understand what in the dish. The pickles with popadoms were very tasty to get us going. We had tandoori chicken and onion bagi for start. The chicken was so good and flavoursome on a slizzer bowel and a bed of onions, so so tasty. Mains were garlic chicken again on a sizzler And a special Biryani with a vindaloo side sauce and a Chicken Jalfrezi. We had the chilli Nan as well which is one of the better Nans I’ve eaten on this island I have to say. The amount of food you get is fantastic, so much so we had enough for some takeaway leftovers. This place is tucked away down by the harbour so isn’t on the normal foot fall trail for most but there were penalty of people sitting eating while we there so that in its self tells you it’s worth the change of direction away from the norms of the shopping centre. Tucked away in the corner of Puerto rico beach and port, above some shops, and beside some other restaurants. After doing plenty of research in the area, we decided to take the risk and try Indian abroad for dinner, what a great decision! The restaurant did look clean and tidy, though the views were lacking, but we didn't come for the sights, but for the flavour!

We ordered some poppadoms, and the dips that came with them were definitely made that day; the mint sauce was refreshing and smooth, the spicy and chunky relish was fantastic, and the mango chutney was .... Mango chutney what can I say!

We cut out the rice, had a keema and a peshwari nans, chicken tikka and lamb bhuna. The flavours were exceptional, the dishes tasted freshly cooked and went down a treat. The chicken wasnt overcooked and the tikka sauce was phenomenal. The bhuna lacked some lamb, but overall the immersion of the tomato and onion was fantastic and I cleaned out my pot.
