L'Alternativa Ristorante e Pizzeria Italiana — Restaurant in Mogán

Welcome to what can absolutely be described as the best Italian restaurant on the island, but especially in Amadores! Sense of Family, fantastic view and food as if you were sitting in every corner of Italy itself.

Your food adventure begins with you being welcomed by a very professional waiter and waitress. Unlike almost all other restaurants in Amadores, this restaurant will not push you inside, but instead let the quality of the food do the work. After a while you start to understand that they are definitely married and the family spirit begins to emerge.

With a big smile, very good English and good recommendations, tonight's dinner was brought out. This is where the next family star takes the stage - 23 year old chef Matteo! Star chef on the rise I would say!

Whatever we ordered (we were a large group) - fish, pasta, meat, cold, hot - EVERYTHING was great!

Simplicity and complexity in the food are mixed together with fresh and Italian(!) ingredients. The pasta is homemade and the meat is of the finest quality.

If there were 6 stars to give, this place would have it! Hope more people get the chance we got. Don't hesitate - go there!

I’m not normally one for leaving reviews (hence I didn’t take any photos!)but had to make an exception in this case. My wife and I had lunch here today after seeing the positive reviews on Google, and we can’t recommend this place highly enough! A small Italian family run beach side business that doesn’t feel the need to hustle you in to eat. If you do decide to eat there though, you won’t be disappointed. We had bruschetta and burrata to start. Both excellent. Good quality ingredients treated with respect. We then had a pizza and a mushroom pasta dish as our mains. They were phenomenal. We made the mistake of getting a pizza from another establishment a few days ago and regretted it. This was in a different league. So glad we visited half way through our holiday, as we’ll be returning at least once, probably more, before we leave. As well as the amazing food the service was bang on point. Polite, professional and attentive. If you’re in the area, then please give it a go, you won’t be disappointed. Fantastic Italian restaurant! Thanks to the genuine Italian owners and top-notch fresh ingredients, you can feel like you're in Italy right here on Gran Canaria.

Grilled octopus: 10/10, fresh, delicately charred, tender, and simply perfect. Seriously, this octopus has its life together more than I do.

Fritto Misto: 10/10, everything's fresh, just the right amount of batter, not drowning in oil like at other places, absolutely delicious. It’s like a crunchy, golden hug for your taste buds.

Mortadella pizza: 10/10, so good it might just make you levitate. Thin, perfectly crispy crust that reminds me of the pizza I had in Viareggio, Italy, but with a twist – this one’s even better.

Semifreddo: 11/10, beware – highly addictive. You might need an intervention after this dessert.

Strawberry and vanilla ice cream: 10/10, perfection in flavor. It’s the kind of ice cream that makes you question every life choice that didn’t involve eating this ice cream.
