Asador el Gaucho — Restaurant in Mojácar

We keep coming back to this Restaurant time and time again because the steaks are so good. There are other Steak Restaurants close by, some offer all you can eat meat feasts, others have nicer decor but if like us you want great food, this place doesn't disappoint. there is an open fire pit in the corner where the steaks are cooked and the smell is irresistible The decor isn't great, functional and comfy rather than luxurious but the service is good and on Friday nights they have Flamenco. I ordered a 300gram Rib eye and my partner a 200gram Fillet. Bothe were delicious and melt in the mouth. We didn't have the bread and aioli starter as we knew the main would be plenty though in the end we did succumb to a pudding as they looked too good to resist. I had chips with my steak and my partner a Jacket Spud, both well cooked and tasty. We chose a bottle of house Red which was full bodied and a bit too rich for me on its own but with the steak it worked a treat. Bad service. Seemed as if the guy serving us didn’t want to be there. Made us feel unwelcome from the minute we got there. Asked for medium rare steak, may as well have just been taken out of the fridge and served on the plate. The other steak we had was covered in salt and it was over powering. Worst steak I’ve ever had.

Just to be clear since you have decided to respond:

We don’t have children. Making presumptions about people coming in only clarifies what you are like as an owner. Steer clear of this place plenty better steak houses nearby. If you don’t enjoy what you do, maybe hire someone that does.

To add to that; seems as if you knew someone was going to complain the same night we were there. Can’t be...

Went here with friends on Thursday night. We weren't sure about going as have had problems here in the past, the English waiter has forgotten our wine everyone we have been there. We ask the other staff and it's there in seconds with an apology. One time we even asked him twice. The food is fantastic and service by other staff is good. This time again he forgot our second bottle of wine, sorry just not good enough. Then at end of evening we were not offered a chipitto, every other table had been. I think our bill off nearly 130€, was more than lots of others spent. So we will not go back, neither will our friends with us that night, plus we will tell everyone we know not to go.
