Galaicos — Restaurant in O Pino

I have visited many restaurants as a pilgrim, but this is the first place where I felt the service and food quality were truly disappointing.

First, about the food:

The gambas were the worst I have ever tried.

The patatas were soggy, and when we ordered a steak, it already came with patatas. But since they looked good, we ordered patatas separately, without being informed that they were already included with the steak. That was frustrating.

I also ordered a beer, and it was served in a grande size without any explanation. This was the first time I had such an experience.

As for the croquetas de langostinos, they had no clear taste, and I could not understand what they were supposed to be.

The worst part, however, was the service at the counter. When I went to pay, I was told to wait. I thought the staff were busy, but then I saw them serve food to four other tables. That was still understandable, but then they even went to clear dishes from another table before helping me. This was too much.

Honestly, this kind of behavior makes me feel that the staff should not be working in a service job. I even wondered if I was treated this way because I am Asian.

Until today, all of my experiences in Spain have been positive. But unfortunately, this was the first place where both the food and the service were truly poor.

He visitado muchos restaurantes como peregrino, pero es la primera vez que sentí que la calidad de la comida y el servicio fueron realmente decepcionantes.

Primero, sobre la comida:

Las gambas fueron las peores que he probado.

Las patatas estaban blandas, y cuando pedimos un bistec ya venía acompañado de patatas. Como se veían bien, pedimos unas patatas aparte, pero nadie nos informó de que ya estaban incluidas con el bistec. Eso fue decepcionante.

También pedí una cerveza y me la sirvieron en tamaño grande sin ninguna explicación. Fue la primera vez que tuve una experiencia así.

En cuanto a las croquetas de langostinos, no tenían un sabor definido y no entendí muy bien qué eran.

Lo peor, sin embargo, fue el servicio en la caja. Cuando fui a pagar, me dijeron que esperara. Pensé que estaban ocupados, pero luego vi que sirvieron comida a cuatro mesas. Eso todavía lo podía entender, pero después incluso fueron a recoger los platos de otra mesa antes de atenderme a mí. Eso ya me pareció demasiado.

Sinceramente, este tipo de comportamiento me hace pensar que esa persona no debería trabajar en un puesto de atención al cliente. Incluso llegué a preguntarme si me trataron así por ser asiático.

Hasta hoy, todas mis experiencias en España habían sido positivas. Pero lamentablemente, este fue el primer lugar donde tanto la comida como el servicio fueron...

We had as phenomenal dinner here and I think this place is quite under-rated because they do not offer a menu peregrinos and they are slightly more expensive than other options. The parillada de pascados was excellent & fantastic to share, but then solomillo had a garlic aioli and in-house freshly made potato chips… yum! Tiramisu was also rather perfect and a great finish. Service was great, friendly, English: Spanish mix. Just a really good experience if you want a nicer dinner and don’t mind...

La comida estaba buena, la camarera muy agradable, aunque raciones muy pequeñas. Ahora bien, el cuidado al cliente ha sido pésimo. Nada mas entrar preguntamos para cenar dentro porque en la terraza hacía muchísimo frio. Nos dijeron que no porque todo estaba reservado y tenían preferencia esos clientes (algo que es totalmente entendible), por lo que tuvimos que cenar en la terraza.

Durante la cena preguntamos de nuevo si podíamos entrar porque estábamos literalmente congelados y dijeron que no. Cuando terminamos de cenar, todas las mesas de dentro seguían vacías.

Aparte de que nos pareció feo que nos dejaran estar fuera pasando frio sabiendo que seguía habiendo mesas dentro de sobra libres, al terminar y pagar preguntamos de nuevo cual era el problema de que hubiéramos cogido una mesa de las vacías para no pasar frio. El señor de la barra nos respondió alterado y con un tono agresivo bastante fuera de lugar, ademas de que sus razones eran bastante absurdas (las mesas eran de 4 y éramos un grupo de 6: con dos sillas algo apretados se hubiera solucionado perfectamente el problema). Si de verdad se preocuparan por los clientes hubieran puesto mucho mas de su parte en hacer de nuestra cena un momento agradable, mas que una experiencia invernal.
