We visited the restaurant with two 8 month old children. The waiter helped us carry the strollers upstairs and arranged 2 baby chairs which we took as a sign that our babies were welcome. We couldn’t be more wrong. Once we placed our order, we put the babies in their high chairs and we gave them some snacks (precisely: two strawberries and one homemade pancake to share). We were soon approached by the waiter who advised us that they do not accept food from the outside and that we should stop feeding our (let me remind you: 8 month old) babies. We were shocked, as this has never happened to us in Spain, which is an amazingly welcoming country for babies of all age when it comes to bars and restaurants. We refused to stop feeding our babies (who were simply hungry) and asked the waiter to propose his solution to this awkward situation. The waiter asked us if we would like to cancel our food order and just pay for the drinks, which we accepted. Note: we did not receive the food by that time. We were waiting for the bill for the drinks when the manager (?) came and told us that they are okay with the babies eating „outside” food - but only strawberries, not the pancakes. The situation was getting more and more ridiculous, we already lost our apetite and just wanted to leave. Then - again - came the waiter, advising us that the „big boss said” that we should pay for the food as well because they (actual quote) „already wasted their money preparing the food”. We strongly opposed to paying for the food, which lured out the „big boss”, who in a very aggresive tone requested us to pay for the food. We tried to explain that we were offered to cancel the order and that we are not going to pay - but the „big boss” kept insisting that the food is already prepared, therefore, we are obliged to pay. The restaurant was trying to persuade us that they do have child’s menu (for 8 month old babies?) and that the reason we didn’t receive it is that… we never asked for it. (I did find their comment above saing they do NOT have it - so which is it in the end? I can’t find the child menu online either… how weird). They even put the food on the table during this argument - we can’t really rate it as we never tried it - but juding by the price:size ratio it should be excellent. In the end we suggested that they should call the police to solve this issue, as their angry attitude was making the situation pointless. They sent back the manager saying that they cancelled our food order, we paid for the drinks and left this nightmare. Mr Ivan AKA The big boss, promised me a nasty reply to any review I make online, so I’m waiting for your version of events. I wish I could give this place 0 stars, I would rather starve than visit this place again. People like Mr Ivan should stay as far as possible from hospitality business, which can be easily seen in the comments here.
To address Mr Ivan’s comment: I don’t think anyone would consider giving three little snacks to two babies below 1 year of age a picnic. I feel sorry for Mr Ivan as he has apparently never attended an actual one. We were offered to cancel our order and later threatened (this is how you spell the word) to pay for it - which is why I believed asking police for their unbiased opinion is the only way out of this conundrum. The only point of posting this review is to warn other families of setting foot in this museum of furniture - seeing other comments I’m not the only one. I’m not...
Read moreExtremely rude management. Very average food and ridiculously overpriced. Staff lied and said the calamari was fresh when its clearly frozen, so chewy that 3 people had to spit it out. After appalling service and been belittled by owner/management he demanded we payed a €20 service charge (which is illegal) then called the police saying we hadn't payed any of the bill when we refused to cover the full service charge however we had actually already payed the full food & drinks bill and tipped €7. Absolutely terrified the children we had with us. Avoid at all costs. No childrens menu, they told us kids meals were €10 yet was charged €15 which we didn't even question until the staff became aggressive regarding the service charge. €180 bill (€200 with service charge) for 4 adults & 4 children for lunch. Disgusting establishment! Also rudely responded to my brother in laws review once again making out we hadn't payed the bill and suggested we were of a lower class than this establishment which is a ridiculous comment! So ive attached proof of the Spanish law regarding compulsory service charges & screenshots of all of our payment’s. €80, €20, €55 & €33 payments converted to GBP on our statements. (Google review wouldn't allow these to be uploaded so please refer to my trip advisor review to see these) The adults in our party include a qualified chef, self employed chartered accountant and business owners. Absolutely NOT lower class, just intelligent individuals that know good food and their...
Read moreOk…so basically, visit this restaurant if your white and don’t have children. Obviously they didn’t get on well in England and we must have asked them to leave, I urge British people to boycott this restaurant. Absolutely the most disgusting service Iv received in Spain in all my years of coming here, the old woman and very oversized man who was wiping his sweaty brow with the cloth he was using to “shine wine glasses” I presume your the owners, you are blatant racists. absolutely fine with me coming in but not my black son, and wouldn’t even let him use the toilet after we had traveled quite a way to get there, only to be told no availability, even though there were many, MANY, tables available. Yep food may be good according to other reviews, and yep the interior is beautiful, but who in 2023 can afford to treat customers in such a DISGUSTING manner. also, note to the very sweaty owners, i would suggest you don’t send a disgusting reply back to me like you have the other poor people who have put bad reviews, unless you want to publicly be shamed for racism all over social media, and we all hate a racist, lucky for you this isn’t London. Wish I could say I’d try here again, but have a funny feeling you won’t be in business...
