The hotel was lovely and clean, nicely perfumed reception and common areas with well polished floors.||I went for a week of relaxation on my own and my stay there was ideal for that. I slept peacefully every night. Paid extra for the sea view room and I’m glad I did - well worth it. There was entertainment every evening which I didn’t go downstairs for but I enjoyed snippets of that from my balcony. ||The room furnishing was slightly dated but was fine nonetheless. Comfortable bed. I had an en suite bath and shower. Both that and my room were kept pristine.||No kettle in the bedroom but I’m glad I read this from reviews in advance so I came prepared with a travel kettle. ||Staff were friendly and helpful, particularly Raol the waiter, and a chap at reception. I can’t remember his name but he’s a fan of the band Travis. ||Breakfast buffet was amazing. Anything I could want was there: cooked breakfast, selection of teas and coffee, fresh fruit, pastries.||Dinner I felt some of the food could be a bit hit and miss but I’m quite fussy with meat. However there was a good selection of dishes, and variety over the different nights that I always found some things I liked. A good selection of fresh fruit and vegetables/salad, nice seafood dishes, and deserts.||There were more than enough sun beds when I went, with parasols and tables. The outdoor area is on a cliff (fenced) overlooking the beach which was lovely. So I sunbathed and read on a comfortable lounger then would nip down to the sea for a swim and cool off. There’s a swimming pool at the hotel within easier reach if that’s your thing. To get to the beach was just a 2 minute walk down some stairs. On the other side the view is onto another beach where the surfers go so that was good to watch.||It was the peaceful and tranquil getaway I was looking for. I fell asleep at night and woke in the morning to the sound of the sea. I would recommend but bring a...
Read moreWe stayed two nights while visiting friends in the area. We had low expectations but it was even worse, this hotel really wasn’t for us. ||PROS:|The location between two beaches is great. The breakfast selection was OK (probably even great if you’re British like 98% of the guests). Free parking just outside on the street. I had a good massage in the spa. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Live music every night. The pool area had a nice view of the ocean. ||CONS:|All main areas smell of old cigarette smoke. The hotel is extremely dated, the furnitures are from when the hotel had its glory days, I guess 20 years ago, it’s like travelling back in time. The restaurant is very loud and 0% cozy with a super bright white light. ||We stayed during low season, the hotel was far from full. Still they gave us probably the worst room of the whole hotel (no 124). The room itself was pretty spacious but also very dated, yet clean (that I guess goes for all rooms). This room is just above the lobby/reception area and it’s open down so all noise from there goes straight in the room, the door was paper thin. I could hear staff and guests walking, talking, laughing, phones ringing, printers going all night like they stood in the room. Live music until 1 am every night and other guests continued even longer. When guests arrived or came home in the middle of the night they rang a door bell that was louder than my teenagers alarm clock. We hadn’t expected a sea view but we looked right onto the roof of the entrance. The bed didn’t have a duvet, just one simple sheet and nothing more (it was low season and 13 degrees and...
Read moreStayed with grandchildren (7/6) and daughter, mid April. Had 2 rooms. 1st pair were town facing, 704 was very smelly from, we think (hope), heavy smokers. View good but as there was no aircon very hot over night. Leaving patio door open made room very noisy through the night with beach cleaning / rubbish collections etc. Reception kindly found us different rooms next day which were sea facing and a joy. They also sorted flowers out as an Anniversery surprise that were very very good, and kindly added a bottle of bubbly. They were multilingual and very professional. The hotel was full to capacity some days but the staff in the kitchens also coped admirably I thought keeping up with volumes and the food was generally good though could have been kept warmer. The boorish behaviour of some groups of people was disappointing - mostly older retired groups both male and females - but the staff managed. It made mealtimes noisy though. Outside the pool / play areas were clean and in good nick. The childrens entertainment well managed and well received by the kiddies. Security was adequate. Tennis court in need of attention as surface breaking up now quite badly in some areas and soon will be unsafe to run around on. Wifi was erratic and the company were in most days fixing it. Not the Hotels fault. This a very good 3 star and what makes the difference is the staff from reception to housekeeping, kitchens to kiddies club. Would I go...
