Browns Restaurant – Overpriced & Underwhelming
During a recent trip to Cabo Roig, we revisited Browns Restaurant, a place we’d enjoyed in the past but hadn’t visited in years. Unfortunately, this return visit left us deeply disappointed.
First Impressions Located near La Zenia roundabout, Browns has a stylish, modern-rustic charm with cozy furnishings in a bar setting. However, the atmosphere leaned more toward "pub grub" than “fine dining”, especially with drinkers sitting at the bar. We usually sit on their lovely terrace, but due to unseasonably cold March weather, we dined inside.
Service: Shockingly Poor From the moment we arrived, the staff’s indifference was glaring. The host barely acknowledged us, and our server was outright grumpy, acting as though we were an inconvenience. Basic requests (like salt and pepper) were ignored, forcing us to scavenge from nearby tables. For a restaurant charging premium prices, this level of neglect is unacceptable.
Food: Overpriced & Underwhelming The menu is exorbitantly priced, but we’re happy to pay for quality, if it delivers. Sadly, Browns fell short: Starters were Karaage & Tuna Tartare. Excellent, crispy, fresh, and flavourful. The meal’s only highlight.
For main course we had steaks €42.90 for 400g Ribeye, €38 for Chateaubriand, which were mediocre at best. Tough, lacking depth of flavour, and nowhere near the quality expected at these prices. The real kick is the Hidden Costs:. Fries were €6 and Sauce was €3 - a blatant rip-off for €40+ steaks in Spain. I thought I had landed on Stephens Green in Ireland.
Final Bill: €136.90 for Regret With four bottled waters, the total was outrageous for what we received. Subpar food and abysmal service.
Verdict: Never Again Browns Restaurant prioritises style over substance. Between the unfriendly staff, overpriced dishes, and add-on charges, this was one of our worst dining experiences in Spain. Save your money and your patience for somewhere that values its customers.

Read moreWe had five people on February 28th to celebrate our friend's birthday. To be clear, I visited the place a week earlier, met the head waiter, looked at the situation and looked good. He told me to order the table online. I said I wanted a certain roundtable, table number 5. He said it, and I also asked for a decoration on the table for his birthday. I immediately went to the website and finalized the number 5 table on Monday, February 28th at 8:30 p.m. I later received confirmation that the order was confirmed. We arrived at the time in question, at 8:30 p.m. Then we were told that table number 5 was already sitting. I showed the waiter the confirmation, but he just shook his head and said someone else had already ordered the table before us. We then got a table at the end of the venue right next to the bar. It was ok except for the loud sizzle music that came out of the bar. We ordered dinner and wine with him. The food was great, but the service was pretty unconscious. It doesn't work well in such an expensive restaurant when the waiter barely knows how to open a bottle of wine and they don't know who ordered what when the food was served. There was no birthday decoration on the table as requested and nothing was done to make the birthday guest happy, not even he was congratulated. Browns Cocktailbar is not a cheap place and professionalism needs to be made and made promises. We paid the bill, but oh my God no tips because they didn't deserve it. But the cooks in the kitchen know their stuff. Great food and well-chosen wine saved what was saved. Two star for...
Read moreOne of the weirdest restaurants experience I have ever made. First of all I have to say that I‘m always trying to avoid complaining about something because it’s really out of my comfort zone but this time I had to do it twice. The first time we got some bread as a starter with some butter in little plastic cups like those you get in cheap hotels at breakfast. The tables around us got fancy homemade butter so I asked the waiter why we got the cheap one. He told me they run out of butter which couldn’t be true because the people around us arrived after us and I told him so. After that we somehow also got the butter he just told me they don’t have anymore. Then we ordered a Medium done Wagyu steak. It came well done so we asked if it’s possible to get a medium steak. The waiter didn’t hesitate and brought us a new one. After we were finished he told us we have to pay for both steaks and asked if we want to take the first one home. We asked nicely for the manager to find a solution. They brought us the „first“ steak and together with the manager we unpacked the steak to look if our complain was necessary or not and as unbelievable as it sounds the steak we got „back“ was perfectly cocked…. We would have never ever complained about a steak like that. All that means that they really threw the first one away, made two new ones and let us pay for both. Nonetheless the drinks were all perfekt! Still wouldn’t visit again. (This was 2 years ago. Just saw it didn’t upload so I...
