El Gato Restaurant — Restaurant in Orihuela

Well I never got to get food. We arrived and it was very full outside, so we asked was there a table inside and the waiter said yes a pointed to a table with one chair up against a pole. I saw a table further down and went and sat at it. Five minutes later 5 people came in and the waiter came down and told me I’d have to leave the table, I said I was here first and he said there is a table at the door the one with one chair there were two of use maybe he expected us to share the chair. At the table beside me there were people waiting on a take away pizza they weren’t asked to give up their table. Stopped here for dinner when we couldn't go to the restaurant we planned in Cabo Roig. Due to covid, we needed a QR code scanner to access the menu, which was a bit tricky. Pizzas were tasty but thick crust which some might not like. Very reasonable for an individual pizza (6.50E). Other things on the menu were OK. My dad had a steak but for 15E it wasn't great. Awful summarises my experience. Starting on the food it was just dreadful ordered 2 large pizzas and 1 large garlic bread, the pizza base had the taste and consistency of a cheap bought base and the pizza and toppings was poor, swamped with motzerella and cheap chicken in which was hard to tell if it was tuna or chicken, very processed.
