Foster's Hollywood — Restaurant in Orihuela

This is a busy restaurant. Went there for lunch. You're greeted at the door by the hostess who is not very chatty. She is functional with a vacant look sort of thing. We got our table quickly and our server was with us instantly for the drinks order. We both were having soft drinks (which you get endless free refills) diet coke and 7up. In the meantime we also put in the order for food. Me very well done ceasers burger and Ber ordered the chicken burger. After about 10 minutes a different person serves us our drinks. I taste the 7up it's just soda water no syrup. I get the attention of a waitress and informed her she nodded and seemed to sympathise, she continued on her way towards the cash register and then moved on out of our line of sight. I had no idea what was happening about my drink. After 10 minutes I called another waitress. While talking to her the other girl showed up and said it is already being dealt with. That another drink is on the way. I told her that she didn't tell me that. I think staff forget that they need to tell the customer what is happening. Any way the drink came at it was fine. A different person came from the kitchen to serve the food. He asked me to check that the burger was cooked sufficiently. I cut into the centre and it seemed to be cooked all the way through. Ber's chicken burger was good. As was my beef burger. I did find some slightly pink parts tho. Not sure if it's a Spanish thing to have rare medium or well done minced meat. There is a lot of staff on and it seems each person has one job to do. I can see how this can work well when everything is runnung OK. But I reckon if something goes wrong they simply don't know how to re-act. And their system breaks down. I think this might be my worst eating out experience ever. Stay away from this place!

We were five people eating out. Three of us ordered the Denver Steak that was supposed to be delivered with mashed potatoes. When it was served it came with only a few fries, and that’s it. They didn’t tell us this when we ordered. When we commented on it, they just said they were out of mashed potatoes. And when we commented that there were barely any potato fries, they just ignored it, pretending like they didn’t understand what we were saying. The beef also turned out to be full of fat. More than I’ve ever experienced before, causing us to leave behind huge part of fat that was uneaten, and the beaf was really dry and tasteless as well.

A couple of us ordered wine. The wine was served with the bottom/foot of the glasses all wet from wine, like they had spilled all over the place when pouring. One of us didn’t notice, and as the person was drinking it, it dripped on to the persons shirt. How the heck do you serve several glasses of wine where the outside is covered in wine? Also the wine was warm.

Absolutely shocking service. Staff were so busy carrying on with the chefs that they forgot they had customers. Asked did we want drinks 11 times by the same monotone staff member who didn't seem bothered if we wanted drinks of not, she was like a robot. One of the meals didnt come, when we asked about it we were told "I only do drinks" we assumed she would have told the waitimg staff. We got another member of staff attention after another 10 mins of waiting. When the meal was eventually brought over (20mins after everyone else) there was no apology at all, it was just threw in the table. The table was cleared as each person finished, not when everyone was finished. The staff seemed untrained and unhappy to be there (unless with the chefs). No dessert or coffee offered. Decided to leave and have dessert else where. Was here a few times last year and everything was great. Seems the place has gone to the dogs....
