La Tagliatelle – La Zenia
Nestled on the top floor of La Zenia Boulevard, La Tagliatelle offers a refreshing departure from its more generic sister restaurant at Alicante Airport. Here, the atmosphere hums with genuine Italian charm, warm, inviting, and effortlessly elegant. It’s clear this isn’t just another cookie-cutter Italian eatery; it has character and the staff are efficient and friendly.
The Setting
The restaurant’s décor strikes the perfect balance between rustic Italian trattoria and modern. White linen-clad tables, crisp linen napkins, and comfortable seating create an air of relaxation. At the rear, an outdoor terrace offers a lovely spot for al fresco dining, though the interior’s cosy style is equally appealing. Whether you’re here after a retail therapy session in the boulevard or a relaxed meal with friends, the setting never disappoints.
The Food
We’ve dined here countless times, and the menu never fails to impress. Our ritual always begins with the Tortellini Fritti(€6.90) - crispy, little golden parcels of goodness that set the tone for the meal.
For mains, we alternate between two standout salads: The Insalata Tagliatella (€15.90), a vibrant mix of fresh greens, juicy mango, and the most addictive mango dressing, sweet, tangy, and utterly moreish. The Insalata Affumicata (€15.90), a smoky, savoury delight that’s equally satisfying.
On our last visit, hunger got the better of us, so we also indulged in the Lomo Cosenza, succulent pork tenderloin resting on toasted bread, draped in a rich, creamy sauce that had us scraping the plate clean. The Salmon Tartar was pleasant, though not quite what I expected, a little less bold in flavour than I’d hoped, but still fresh and well-prepared.
Now, the pizza. I’ll be honest, it wasn’t for me. The base was too thin, almost cracker-like, and the pepperoni was salami, which I don’t like. But given how stellar the rest of the menu is, I can forgive one misfire.
Service
The staff here are attentive without being intrusive, friendly without being overbearing, they strike that balance of perfection. Even when the restaurant is busy (which it often is), service remains efficient and unhurried.
The Bill
With four bottles of sparkling water, our total came to €91.20. Yes, it’s pricier than some nearby options, but the quality justifies the cost.
We’ve tried nearly every restaurant at Lan Zenia boulevard, yet La Tagliatelle remains by far, the best quality.
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5) – Excellent, with just a tiny room for pizza perfection.

Read moreMe and my partner usually only eat here when visiting the boulevard. We have the same meal every time we come as we love it so much.
Tonight we visited and we ordered our usual meal (pizza & a pasta dish) my pasta arrived first and I waited a little as I didn’t want to be rude eating without my partner but I waited around 8 minutes and it was going cold so we started to share it whilst trying to get the waiters attention. We finally got the waiter who looked like the manager and told him we was missing a pizza so he said he would go & find out. We had finished my pasta by this point and the waiter was stood talking to another waiter to what we thought looked like the manager ( blue shirt on ) he pointed 2 fingers up at us to indicate 2 minutes we thought. Then waiting a lil more (nobody came to explain anything) so another waitress came and asked if we was okay with everything we said no were missing a pizza and it’s ruined our meal because we couldn’t eat together ! She said it’s because they were busy and had lots of big tables in. The manager finally came back over and said they got the order wrong as we wanted no mushrooms so they are making a new pizza for us. It will be here in 1 minute. The pizza came and it was not as how we usually have the pizza it was a little underdone, we could tell they had just rushed it together which I appreciate as they wanted to get it to us as fast as possible but why didn’t they explain in the first place to us instead of just thinking / assuming we was going to be okay with it ! We told the manager we was unhappy and he said there’s nothing he can do he just shrugged his shoulders and walked off . The bill came with no gesture on we paid full price for everything which it’s not a cheap meal in the first place. Really unhappy and don’t think I will return unless I hear back from this comment. I am quite upset as it completely ruined...
Read moreThis looked like a signature dish...and has a big photo in the menu....thought i can not go wrong....however it had a very unusual taste...which was very sweet..sickly and lefted a very unpleasant taste...an hour later i can still taste the sickening flavour. I know the Italian's undercook pasta and have it firm...but unfortunately mine was rock hard... I did leave 90% of my meal ....but no one asked if I enjoyed my meal....or questioned why I had not eaten my meal...especially when they cleared my plate...the plate was taken with out conversation...Immediately after my plate was taken away, I was then presented with a dessert menu. I then said I would take a look at the menu a bit later...unfortunately the waiter then snatched the menu away..so there was no opportunity to order a pudding. So no comment .. I then complained at the end of my experience...which was after I paid... I am not interested in freebies from the restaurant nor money back, but unfortunately the person in charge took no responsibility and tried to blamed me for not complaining...I informed him that I had not eaten my my meal and not once did anyone ask why, the waiter just cleared my plate without out any interaction...he had no answer to give me...just those i do not care eyes!! The trouble is this is a very commercially restaurant, with high turn over of customers...and unfortunately they do not care about individuals and you are cattle passing through...nor do they obviously care about their customer feedback...this has taught me... i will and ask everyone to please now and go and support all the local private restaurants where the customer is respected...I seriously do not recommend this place... unless you love raw pasta and extremely sweet meat, and staff that don't care. The restaurant is...
