L&A Familia — Restaurant in Orihuela

We visited this restaurant for dinner tonight, and it was an absolute disaster from start to finish. As soon as we walked in, I politely asked if we could just take a seat, and the waitress acted as if I was putting her out by simply asking. We then ordered drinks – 2 pints of Coke Zero. They arrived as two pint glasses of ice with only a single bottle of Coke Zero in each. I politely said, “whenever you get the chance, could we have another two Cokes?” to which she replied rudely, “you said 2 pints with Coke Zero.” When I responded, “sorry, usually pints of Coke Zero come with 2 bottles each,” she mocked me and snapped, “USUALLY I don’t read your mind.” Everywhere else I’ve been, including here in the past, staff always confirm the pint of Coke includes 2 bottles when I order a pint.

Then came the starters. The croquettes arrived ice cold in the middle. The mains weren’t much better — the pizza was completely burned all around the edge and across the bottom, and both the carbonara and the risotto were completely different from last summer. Clearly, a new chef has started, and it really shows.

While eating, I tried to ask the owner, as he passed by, if we could have another two Coke Zeros whenever he has the chance. He rolled his eyes, walked away, and ignored us completely.

We came here 5–6 times during a three‑week holiday last summer and always enjoyed it, but after tonight, I will never return. I’ve never felt so awkward and unwelcome for simply trying to spend my money somewhere....

OMG been going here for years, how things change. Ordered Paella along with 2 pizzas for our daughter & granddaughter. Said would be a while for the Paella so we ordered a starter combo dish to share between the four of us. After a long wait 2 pizzas turned up so we sent them back only for them to be returned 1 minute later along with the Paella and told we couldn’t have the starter because the Paella was ready and needed to be served. So no starter and soon after starting to eat our meals one pizza was sent back because the base was burned. No replacement turned up and then when the waiter came back he said it had been struck off the bill. The rest of us had finished eating by now So, no starter and one pizza sent back. We were offered another pizza if we wanted it, but we had already waited long enough and didn’t want to sit whilst my daughter ate her pizza alone. To top off the experience a warm beer sat on the table waiting for a glass to turn up after two requests. A real shocker and what a change after many previous good experiences. Horrible arrogant staff and manager booked a table for 8 people (2 different families) but we wanted two separate bills - they refused to do this saying it wasn't possible. I suggested we took two tables for four next to each other but they said it still wasn't possible. They were very rude so we decided to go elsewhere and on the way out the staff thought it funny to shout profanities at us (including children) in front of other customers at the restaurant. We were not in any way rude to them - we just politely left. This restaurant doesn't deserve it's rating and we will never go back - they missed out on a bill of 300€ plus at the restaurant opposite. Looking at recent reviews they seem to enjoy being rude to their clients and they seriously need to think about...
