Waldemars — Restaurant in Orihuela

Ordered half roast chicken and chips with side salad. What arrived was not what I pictured. I got a slim breast of chicken which feasted lovely too be honest but the chips was something that was at the end of a bag of frozen chips. All tiny ends and about 6 or 7 of these were indeed edible as that was about as many as I got. The side salad was pretty poor. There was lettuce which was bad along the edges, one ring of red pepper which was nice, sweet corn was ok. Coleslaw approx the amount that would fit in a tea spoon and a level teaspoon at that. Onion about the size of a euro coin. It was a pity as the slim breast of chicken was actually tasty. I come here once a year to see if any changes. This is no different - a disappointing 2 star which for me is about 3/10. Service was good as I don't want to slate the place entirely as that's what I am not about. Pricing was moderate. I have spent some great times and eaten great food at Waldemars over the last 16 years when I am out at my holiday home from Ireland. Unfortunately last week one of the evening staff girls gave off a very rude vibe to both my wife and I. We put this down to her maybe having a bad night. Last night we decided to go there for our evening meal and found it to be very busy as usual. We looked all around for a table for two to where a table on its own was not visible but there were some sections of table at the end of large groups free. We asked one of the serving girls about a table for two and whilst chewing her gum she just looked down her nose at us and said point blank NO !! rather than looking to see if we could be accomodated. I'm sad to say these two "Diva" style attitudes have left a bad feeling about the evening staff and we certainly won't be going back as I do not expect rudeness anywhere I am spending my hard...

Portions sizes have immensely decreased while prices have increased and multiple of our pasta dishes arrived cold. Ignored my staff when needing their attention for services. Booked a table this morning for 8:30, got here on time and they stood around aimlessly looking for a table for 5 where we could sit despite seeing multiple reserved signs on tables for 5, they simply didn’t know what to do with us regardless us booking hours in advance. Tables were not clean being very dirty and sticky and no one offered or went to clean it once we’d sat because as I said they were not prepared for us to come despite the booking. Used to be a good, family restaurant where we could have a good meal and good service but has gone downhill due to god knows what.
