Went to Shams in August, I gave it 1 star because the coffee was nice and very well presented. After that it all went downhill, we chose our food from the description on the menu and the photos next to each dish (not being familiar with cuisine from this part of the world). The food arrived and did not look anything like the photos, my wife thought she would be getting a lamb shank with exotic spice's but ended up with a very fatty bit of mutton, mine was a mixed meat dish with garlic sauce and again nothing like the photo and had a dry pita bread dumped on it (not listed on the dish description) and no garlic sauce. Being the good natured people we are we eat as much as we could and paid the bill, I then asked to see the manager. I explained that the food was not as described nor anything like the photos and all he said was the lamb photo showed a meal for 6 but that was not shown or stipulated on the menu, on mine he said they all have pita bread again not specified and I do not like pita bread and I had no garlic sauce. After trying to get through to him for about 10 minutes all he would do is shrug his shoulders.

Read moreHave been meaning to try this restaurant for a while and finally did on Tuesday night.I wish we had come before now!! The food and service were as good as it gets. We had a delicious meal for 2, to start it included ,a lovely fresh salad , 4 amazing homemade dips, a freshly made flat bread and a spicy minced meat topped bread/pizza. Once we had finished this , the very friendly waitress brought out the mixed grill. Lamb chops, chicken breast, kofta type kebab , beef steak , chips , onions, peppers and tomatoes, all beautifully seasoned and served on a sizzling griddle pan. With a drink each ,the bill was less than €50! .. The owner/chef couldn’t have been friendlier, he visited each table to check everything was ok. All in all , a superb meal and a restaurant we will definitely be returning to soon. Thank you very much for an excellent evening that will be...
Read moreJust saw this place today and as a fan of Lebanese cuisine, decided to give this a try.
We had the tabbouleh and vine leaves for starter. It’s very rare to get a true tabbouleh in a restaurant but this is as true to a real tabbouleh as you can get. Very nice, flavoursome and the right balance of parsley, bulgur, tomatoes, lemon juice and spring onion.
For mains, we both had the Chicken Shish Tawook with Bulgar. Chicken was very well grilled, flavoursome and tasty. Salads and veggies accompany.
We met with Edward or (Eduardo in Spanish) the owner and chef. He is very proud of his food and heritage and so he should be. There is ample space inside and a lovely large sun terrace and outdoor terrace. We paid around €25/person.
I would recommend this place. It’s upstairs...
