Waikiki Restaurant Snack Bar Grill — Restaurant in Pájara

We had dinner here around 7.30 this evening (Saturday 2nd Aug). Ordered drinks and food for four people. Ordered Magners cider, got Strongbow and when we pointed out that this wasn't what we ordered the reply was "sorry, we dont have Magners". We then asked for a beer instead, Dorada, and were told yes that's ok. They gave us a pint of Tropical beer, so wrong drink twice.

I ordered the Waikiki salad and it was poor. The smoked salmon was stringy and a funny colour, a handful of salad leaves weren't fresh. On the menu it said the salad came with a mix of lettuce, rocket and avocado. There was no avocado or rocket. The asparagus that came with it didn't taste fresh and the dressing was very watery, not enough olive oil in it to make it a dressing.

We were told when we ordered our food to order by using the number next to the menu items we wanted rather than use the name of the dish. I'm assuming this is to avoid any mistakes with what food you want. Overall, the communication was somewhat lacking. We were never approached after the food was served to ask how our food was or if we needed anything, more drinks for example. After we finished our food, we were left with the plates for nearly 20 min and no offer of dessert, tea/coffee.

The meal came to €68 (kids pizza which was fine, a plate of chicken goujons named 'chicken fingers' on the menu also ok, grilled sole with side salad and fries also ok) and it was the cheapest meal we've had so far in Morro Jable and we've been here for a week now. I guess you get what you pay for. The place was busy but they had three waiters covering front of house, so should definitely have been well able to serve the busy crowd efficiently but service was slow compared to other restaurants we've been to in Morro Jable.

My partner and I visited here on our first day in Morro Jable back in September of 2024. I had grilled octopus/squid with guacamole and he had a steak with salad. The atmosphere (decor) and coffee was the only good thing about this place and that's not saying much. Everything else was appalling. The restaurant seemed as if it had been left in the hands of a bunch of kids, they all couldn't have been no older than 18, both cooking in the kitchen and serving the food. Service was slow, lacking in communication and there were complaints being made all around us by different customers before we had even received our food. To top it all off the food was disgusting! The steak my partner ordered tasted off! The colour, and the smell was horrendous. I took one bite from my partner's steak and said you cannot eat that, it's not edible. My grilled octopus/squid was poor in taste, soggy in texture and the guacamole was brown/grey! There was no sense of functionality or common sense/initiative from the waitresses who handed our food to us without cutlery, condiments or napkins. We constantly had to get up and ask for things. The one saving grace was the one waitress, who when we made our complaint, was understanding enough to give us a full refund for our entire meal and both myself and my partner could see on her face that she knew how terrible the service had been! I'm sure she felt completely embarrassed to even work there! Will never be going there again and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. In the first place I wanted to say that I never write bad reviews but experience in this restaurant it was absolutely from wierd to absolutely awful. We went there on the first day we were waited for waiters for quite long time I went 2 times to ask if we can have menu they were keep sending me to the table I thought ok fine they were a bit busy so we waited and we came back with our friends later on the day because it is such a great decoration and perfect spot for sunset. Next visit we have been totally ignored they were keep looking and didn’t come to our table after long time of waiting we been served but waitress got our order wrong with 2 drinks. We still wanted to give them a chance because I thought maybe they were short of staff or was a bad day so we went there one more time and trust me we never ever felt like this. We sit down outside there were not many customers and few waitresses and we have been ignored waitresses were keep watching us we waited about 20-25 min and never been served. Thats is not acceptable at all.
