Raymon (owner) is an old fashioned character from the golden age of host manship, who is in charge and though customer experience is in his heart, he is in charge.
You should relax and follow his instruction to talk without reference to politics or football and he will treat you to the best dining experience of true Spanish Tapas complemented with fine wines and spirits.
The chef in this place knows his onions and the meat (Canarian pork ribs) falls from the bone, is moist and delicious. Other tapas selected included mushrooms stuffed with blue cheese, garlic prawns and iberian croquettes. Our particular passion was for the Spanish sausages in a sauce caramelised to perfection. The house sweet Rioja was moreish.
For a couple I would recommend 5 tapas meal selection and if you desire more then Raymon would be more than willing to add as you go.
The food is the best to be found in the area without doubt and just off the beaten track amongst the many hairdressers in the town.
This evening was all enjoyed with the added company of two German couples on the next table, who were generous and kind but clearly alcoholics😉. Thank you to them for including us in their enjoyment and for pulling just enough English out of the bag to make it memorable. You are beautiful...
Read moreMy partner and I stayed in Morro Jable for almost two weeks. During this time, we dined twice at La Bodega de Jandia as the food was excellent and the experience was exceptional.
Ramón, the onwer, was very friendly and happily presented the dishes to us, guiding us through the Spanish cuisine. His tapas selection was adapted each time to contain the best and freshest dishes available. The dishes were also designed to surprise the guests with unexpected and delicious twists to traditional foods. The sangria we ordered to accompany the food was also one of the best we have ever had.
The waiting staff was respectful and happy to help when needed.
Make sure to reserve a table in advance as the restaurant is always full.
We will definitely return when we visit to Morro Jable next time!

Read moreI guess this is a place you either love or hate . You will love this place if you never had tapas before and want a show master to tell you constantly how to behave and how to have fun and how great this place is , if you are not picky with food and satisfied with the just average quality of the tapas and if you prefer sitting in a restaurant where there’s are only other tourists and no locals and you also could avoid choosing the dishes by taking a tapas menue. If that is you, you’ll probably love this place (as many apparently do ). But if you like really good tapas and places where also locals go to, then better skip this one . There are better places - eg the one just 100 metres away toward the beach where people constantly queue up to get a seat until late at night . The probably only nice thing is the friendly waitress who spend time explaining the wines and also was willing to speak Spanish with you . And the wines were actually quite nice (we had one from Galicia and one from Palma). The other good thing is that we weren’t charged for the pork with fries that we didn’t touch but had not...
