Restaurant Tony's — Restaurant in Palafrugell

Nice situation, right beside the beach. As it is under arcades, if you choose right, it can be in shade. And you can watch children playing on the sand and in the water, and people watch while you dine. Two of us had lunch at Tony's recently. We had two tapas and two mains, with one large bottle of fizzy water. We started with patates bravas (expensive at €8.20) and one portion of the tomato bread. Then we had croquettes with squid ink and calamari a la plancha. We finished with two coffees and shared a bottle of water. The food was OK, it was nothing special. The servers were very nice and the place was very clean and the toilets, as is the norm in Spain, were pristine too. For what we ate, it was on the expensive side at €58.50. However, it is beautifully situated and in a high value tourist spot, so...

Not a good experience - saying food was mediocre would be generous. The meat of the grilled sardines was like a paste, the skin burned and hard as a bone. I assume the fish was frozen to achieve this. The beef Escalopa was tasteless with the cheese coming out as liquid (probably the cheapest they could find). The sides of grilled vegetables came in big chunks that at forst sight looked nice bit were under cooked and bland. We didn't finish any of the 4 dishes that we ordered (we also had Musclos a la marinera and Chipirones) and went to another restaurant afterwards to have some descent food. Besides the location nothing was good...

Das Restaurant ist leider echt nicht gut. Der Kellner hatte einen Jogginganzug an der dreckig war, an sich leider auch kein gepflegter Mensch (Hände) und ehrlich gesagt sind wir uns auch nicht sicher, ob er nicht eine im Tee hatte. Essen war auch wirklich nicht gut. Patatas bravas haben nur nach Fritteuse geschmeckt und meine Garnelen in Knoblauch kam sehr lieblos auf einem Teller serviert. Haben auch nicht wirklich nach irgendwas außer Öl geschmeckt. Bei 16€ erwartet man am Meer in Spanien wenigstens ein kleines Gußeisenpfännchen oder ähnliches… Das war wirklich sehr lieblos und unschön serviert. Die Soße zu meinen patatas war ungenießbar. Hat einfach nur nach schlechter Mayo geschmeckt. Hab ich stehen lassen und die patatas ohne alles gegessen. Service war auch schwierig. Drei Leute hatten essen darunter teilweise 2 Sachen, wie bei mir und einer hatte nichts. Das Essen kam quasi als wir anderen dann fertig waren. Tortillia ist sicherlich auch erst vergessen worden. Kam dann erst nach der Dorade irgendwann auf Nachfrage. Der Salat und die Dorade von meinen Begleitungen waren ok, aber irgendwie war das ganze Drumherum halt nicht so prickelnd. Ebenso hat das Wasser aus den Gläsern auch komisch nach Spüli geschmeckt. Schade für so eine tolle Lage direkt am Strand und das Geld, was man dafür bezahlt. Preis Leistung absolut nicht im Verhältnis. Das einzig nette is halt wirklich der Sitzplatz direkt an der Promenade, aber dafür kann man sich auch einfach auf die Mauer oder den Steg davor setzen und auf das schlechtes Essen und den Service...
