Came on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch but the place was fully booked. The woman working there was apologetic and tried to accommodate us but the time was tight so we tried again in the evening for dinner and she made sure we had a spot.
My husband and I both ordered the papparadelle Al tartufo negro (14€) which is a thick homemade pasta served with a rich black truffle sauce and grated parmesano. Usually we’d order a different dish so we have variety but this was a “Joey doesnt share food” kind of moment. It was amazing! The pasta cooked al dente and the truffle sauce that coated the pasta was “chef’s kiss.”
For dessert, we ordered one of their many in-house desserts, the tiramisu (5.90€). Highly recommended! There’s just a touch of liquor flavor which was perfect. The mascarpone to the coffee soaked bread layered at the bottom was the perfect touch to the end of our meal… along with two espressos and a shot of almond liquor. Read moreI am admittedly an Italian foodie snob. I like to cook Italian food and seek out the best Italian cuisine wherever I go.
So, we are in Palma de Majorca and I saw the pics and reviews of Gigi’s Piccolo Ristorante and had to go! It is phenomenal. It reminds me of my favorite Italian restaurants in New York City! I love Spain’s food scene, but they tend to make the Italian food too sweet. Not at Gigi’s! It’s obvious that he uses the best ingredients and the authentic recipes for this restaurant. I had the spaghetti puttanesca and it was a perfect dish.
This awesome restaurant is run by a husband - wife team. Gigi is Italian and cooks all the dishes himself. Jackie runs the front of the house and is charming and friendly. It’s a great dining experience at an unbelievably affordable price point. If you like Italian food, you must...
Read moreVisited this restaurant after reading the great reviews regarding their gluten free options. The staff were brilliant giving me details of all the gluten free options available. I had a spaghetti carbonara which was ordered gluten free and was the best I have ever tasted since being diagnosed as coeliac. My husband had pork medallions with a Gorgonzola sauce roast potatoes and vine roasted tomatoes which he said was excellent. We followed this up with a gluten free cheesecake which was delicious for my and an apple tart for my husband. This is an excellent restaurant which I would highly recommend to anyone to try at very reasonable prices and the staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable on gluten free. I f you are thinking of trying this restaurant, don’t hesitate as you won’t be...
