Restaurante pizzería Lilli / Plaza Nueva — Restaurant in Pilar de la Horadada

Arrived at restaurant to find 6 people sat in corner of the restaurant, having a meal. We decided to move closer to where the other people were sat as there was a strong wind blowing off the sea and into the restaurant through the two open doors. My wife asked a waiter if one of the doors could be closed as it was cold sitting in any part of the restaurant. This he duly did. The waiter then approached us and told us that he would have to reopen the door because the gentlemen, who was front of house, had told him to do so. I then asked to speak to the gentleman who was front of house. I explained that we had moved tables twice to try and find a warm area of the restaurant but had failed to do so and please would he open one of the two doors. He said no, that he wanted to let air into the restaurant. We pointed out that including us there was only 8 people in the restaurant and that there was a strong wind blowing making it a very cold and uncomfortable place to be. He arrogantly told us the door would stay open and if we wanted to leave then that was our choice. My wife, who by now was very upset by the attitude of a man who was clearly arrogant, self opinionated, and didn't care about his customers, and this being her last night this man had ruined it. The other members of staff, who had been very helpful, seemed horrified by his attitude and looked frightened by him. We got up from our seats and left. We were coming out for a nice meal but unfortunately encountered a rottweiler, who was full of his own importance and who did not care about his customers. The man is in the wrong trade and Lily's requires a front of house who has decorum...

We have visited this restaurant ever year when we visit La Torre. Unfortunately the last two occasions haven't been the amazing experiences of the past. We ate around 8:00pm - before the owner arrived. 5 or 6 of the staff congregated around the entrance chatting to each other rather than waiting on us or the other tables. We were a party of five (3 children) and given 4 adult menus. I struggled to get the attention of the waiter and had to interrupt to get a children's menu and ask for the wine list - I was told there was no wine list as they didn't have much wine. The food was good and the portion size was good - circa €100 for 2 adults 3 children's meals. What was noticeable was that when the owner arrived the staff seemed to disperse from the entrance and attend to the diners, unfortunately this was too late for us. I probably would return but it no longer is the clear winner...

We have eaten at Lilly’s many times over the years. I love the new premises! I am coeliac and dairy intolerant. Today, 23rd October around 12:30, my friend and I went in for lunch. I asked if lactose free cheese was available for my pizza and was told yes. When it arrived, it was clearly not lactose free and when asked the member of staff serving, she agreed it was not lactose free and took the pizza away. A replacement pizza was served - pizza base, a scraping of tomato purée and 3 slices of ham. I am very disappointed on several levels. My friend was eating essentially alone while the second pizza for me was made. The second pizza was not to the standard I am used to from Lilly’s ( I have been coeliac and dairy intolerant for some years now and fed well at Lilly’s during that time) It is such a shame that what was once excellent has deteriorated so much that I could not risk...
