Restaurant U1969 — Restaurant in Pollença

It was one of the only places with tables available, so that should have been the first clue. The waiting staff seemed like they were doing us a favour. Ordered the seafood Paella and a round of drinks and some waters. The water came in unsealed refillable glass bottles.. we had our drinks and waited, and waited some more. No-one came to check if we needed more drinks, or tell us that the meal would be another 15 or 20 minutes, or asked us if we wanted a bread basket. Nothing.. After an hour, we asked the waitron about the food and she said 5 more minutes. So after another 30 minutes we decided to leave. Asked for the drinks bill, and the manager came over to explain that they were very busy. I pointed out the several empty tables and only 2 waiters for the whole place. The Paella magically appeared at the same time, one glance at it, and the prawns placed on top of it looked suspiciously uncooked, but I can't confirm this as we didn't stick around to find out. Atmosphere wasn't great given it was empty, still had a nice night with the other half. Waiter was nice, gave us time to decide while we enjoyed a very reasonably priced wine. Lamb Chops for one meal, sea bass for the other. Both nicely cooked, with a tasty medley of peppers, corgettes, onion, just the right amount of sea salt to enhance the taste. Lamb chops were a tad scrapy (thin cut and messy) but cooked OK. Fish done well. Desert was also decent.

The restaurant is always empty but has beautiful views out across the bay, with a comfy bar area. Could do with something to enhance its kerb appeal.

We went here for lunch with our 7 months old baby, we ordered chicken from the kids menu - it was so dry that my son couldn't swallow it. I've tasted it myself and just left it as it was to dry and had no taste. We gave them a second chance and we ordered pasta from the kids menu but again we were disapointed and our son did not eat. We waited a lot of time for food to arrive, waiting staff was very good and helpful. To bad because this place has a lot of potential and looks super inside and out. We also tried the smoothies and they had no taste as well. If I would be the owner I would be looking how to improve the food and drinks as everything else...
