We ate here tonight. So let's start off with the positives then I can explain why it's only 4 stars instead of 5.
It's a lovely cosy little place with super friendly service from Beatrix. The menu is a choice of poke bowls or burgers with some wedges, and a tapas menu with mini versions of these dishes that you can have with a drink for 4.50€
We both went for the vegan burger, because getting anything plant based in Roquetes del mar has proved very difficult for the last 4 days. So we were both excited to see a place that did a few options. The reason I had to change the rating from a 5 to a 4 was the description of the food didn't quite match what we got.
For me personally it didn't bother me because it was tasty. But for my husband it was an issue. He hates kidney beans with a passion because of taste and texture. And the menu said the burgers were made from seiten, tofu, mushrooms, truffle and spices. I could see and taste the seiten, but the rest of it seemed to just be mashed up red kidney beans. And I think it had a mushroom and garlic sauce on it. It was full of flavour, and I devoured mine, and unfortunately I ended up eating nearly all of my husband's too.
I would go back personally because the experience felt intimate, friendly and I personally enjoyed the burger. But it was not quite as advertised. Value for money 5/5 Friendliness 5/5 Service 5/5 So...
Read moreWe visited Haka tonight for the first time having recently seen a review on Facebook. I ordered the pulled pork burger but was disappointed to be told it was not available, so instead I opted for the Angus burger. When it arrived my disapointment vanished, as I was served with a burger that was at least an inch thick. The burger tasted as good as it looked and wIth the addition of some of the sauces served alongside it, I was soon eating one of the tastiest burgers I've had in quite a while. Having eaten this huge burger I thought I'd had my fill but was tempted into a dessert of cheese cake served with cream and fresh fruit. I don't often have dessert but I'm glad I did because this one was delicious. When we had both finished our food and settled the bill, we were treated to a complimentary glass of lemoncello which was a perfect end to a delicious meal. I'm hoping next time I get to try the pulled pork burger, but if not I'd settle for that angus...
