Ristorante Italiano San Rocco — Restaurant in Roquetas de Mar

A delicious meal! ...if you can handle the wait.

We got here at 21:50 after booking a table for 22:00. We had to wait for 45 minutes until anyone asked for our order. And then we had to wait another 40 for our food to be served. I've visited this restaurant with my family before and this seems to be a recurring issue- super slow service. A 45 minute wait for someone to even take our order is outright preposterous, especially in an establishment of this (rather small) size.

That being said, the food is fantastic. Everyone at the table were very pleased, and they really do serve great dishes with interesting flavors for a reasonable price. It does have a few vegetarian options as well, both for pizzas and pasta. The restaurant itself is clean and classy. It really is a shame the staff seem so unwilling to provide a reasonable service. If they did, san Rocco would without a doubt be one of Roquetas' best...

Had dinner here on Friday 12th oct. Service was excellent and the host was friendly and helpful as were the other service staff. Unfortunately in order to have a full choice from the menu it is necessary to order your meal in advance as they only serve the freshest of food and do not keep steaks etc for any length of time which is fair enough but disappointing if you've anticipated having anything you really want. One of our party's choice of starter and main course were unavailable. We all therefore ordered a chicken in mustard sauce for our mains the sauce was tasty however the chicken was quite dry. Food was fine but expensive. We had cheaper food of the same quality in Barcelona. 14 euro for a spaghetti bolognaise is not cheap. A bottle of wine is 15 euro. The service was also a bit clumsy. They didn't ask to taste it and also did not fil the glasses but just left the bottle there. Then after half an hour one of the other waiters noticed and did fill them while it wasn't necessary anymore. For dessert they recommended to split the cheesecake by 2 persons coz it was too 'big'. They had probably just ran out of cheesecake coz it really wasn't that big. We also asked to have the chocolate and blueberries seperatly but they just went ahead and put them both on the cake.
