We were standing waiting to get into Lord John’s tonight but it was getting late & no sight of us (family if 4 ) being seated any time soon. We decided to walk away before everywhere stopped cooking food & closed the kitchens.
Luckily we found this close by and literally had less than 15 minutes before the kitchen closed so ordered quickly.
Service was great even though they were winding down & the food, well it was simply stunning!!!!
I had 1/2 rack of ribs with bbq sauce and it fell off the bone, the potatoes were cooked with a crisp outside and fluffy inside seasoned with just the perfect amount of salt. The small salad had balsamic over & went perfectly. My Husband had the steak and it was cooked to a perfect medium rare. Just Delicious. Even had Apple pie & ice cream for dessert which was beautifully presently & tasted Divine.
Price point here is such good value & I can honestly recommend 100%. If you can visit then do so. Much Better than the most hyped restaurants around!
Also the restaurant was decorated lovely and such a vibe inside restaurant.
Thank you so much for such tasty food & lovely customer service this evening...
Read moreFabulous meal last night in this small but beautifully decorated restaurant. We began with garlic prawns and then shared a fillet steak Angus. Neither dish could be faulted in any way-the prawns were plump and succulent and had been de-veined (extra mark for me) and we're served up hot with thinly sliced garlic and guindilla in the oil along with freshly baked bread roll (essential to soak up the last spicy drops). As for the steak it was cooked to perfection 'Al punto' and came accompanied by curly french fries, green asparagus and pimiento. We chose to have the optional sauce (pepper in our case). It had to be a good wine to match these two dishes and we chose well, a very nice Ribera del Duero 18mths in the barrel. Sumptuous. Service was impeccable despite a full restaurant.Probably won't return to this area but if I could take one thing back to Alicante it would be this gem of a restaurant. Keep exceeding...
Read moreThis was our second visit, and we were pleased that standards were still as high as the previous year. I started with Prawns in Garlic which were beautiful. My Mum had Roasted Sweet Red Peppers on toast with a quail's egg, which she really enjoyed. We both had Ribs for our main course. My Mum had half a rack, and I opted for a full rack. They were cooked to perfection and coated in a sweet sticky BBQ glaze. We could hardly move when we had finished. We were served a complimentary lemoncello sherbert drink along with our bill, which was really refreshing.
I should also mention that we phoned and booked as we knew it would be busy. We also specified we wanted to eat inside rather than on the outside terrace, simply because the interior of RAKU is so nicely decorated with beautiful wall art that we knew it would add to our dining experience.
I would definitley reccomend Raku and will visit again next...
