Sorry this is going to be a long one, but I have many things to say. I guess our expectations were just way too high for this place… the service was just one big disappointment: the waitress who walked us to our table did not smile once, and gave us an attitude as if we were giving her lots of trouble by being there. We ordered some bread and olives to share and a main course each. The main course arrived literally 2 minutes after the olives… I was still putting aioli on my first piece of bread and they already expect me to eat my main? And the most funny part was that they took our olives and bread away together with the empty main plates. We ordered a bottle of wine and still had most of it left, while all the food was already gone from the table. Really awkward. I don’t understand how such a restaurant does not want to give their customers a good experience. I go to a restaurant to enjoy a pleasant dinner, without any rushing, we are on holiday! We have all the time in the world! It wasn’t even busy, but the whole time there I felt they just want us to leave as soon as possible. If I wanted fast food I would go to McDonalds.. luckily a street musician showed up halfway dinner, he did brighten up the atmosphere as at that point it was getting darker and very quiet (read: not cozy at all). However, I must say the food was good, especially the dessert which actually saved the night (we had a...
Read moreOne of the very best restaurants in the Puerto. Extensive menu, delicious food (well known for their paellas and seafood) one of their traditional signature dishes is snails cooked in the traditional Mallorquin fashion - try them as a starter or a plate to share. Their sweet dishes are also very good indeed.
Very good wine list, ranging from moderate to high end, but the house wines are also very good. You can sit by the beach, or outside on the terrace, or inside, which is quieter and smarter.
The service, presentation and quality of food is excellent, and as a long standing family run restaurant, is a "go to" venue for locals. However, it's not cheap, but the value for money can't be quibbled with.
They also cater for large groups, events, weddings and so on, with a large upstairs venues with sea views. Highly recommended: give it a try and it may become...
Read moreExcellent food. The croquette selection and fried squid were delicious. If you’re coming from the states, remember that fried squid in Spain is just that- fried squid only. You won’t get a dipping sauce but it was still delicious.
We had the lamb shoulder cooked in its own juices and tenderloin with foie. Both were amazing and tender and juicy.
As for wine, I went for the cheapest red they had (lol) which was the Crianza. It was delicious.
After a day of walking around, we’d built quite an appetite so went with the banoffee for desert. Absolutely demolished it. There were crumbs flying everywhere and a pack of seagulls descended on the scraps.
If you bring a sweater, sit outside across the street, facing the harbor and take in the views. Pet the street cats and toss them a bite. Laugh at the edgy...
