Rocked up here on a rainy Sunday, thought may have food or just a drink, old guy with grey beard says you can only sit here if you are eating, to which I replied I am not sure yet, as I have not looked at the menu. At which point he just dumped two menus on the table and walked off. We decided to sit at the far end of the restaurant in the just drinking tables and took a menu with us. We sat looked at the menus and saw there were no drinks options on that menu and asked for a drinks menu. To which he pulled yet another face and went and got for us. After deciding that this menu was fairly limited we decided to order a couple of coke zero’s whilst we would carry on looking at the food menu. After he sat three more couples, got them menus, served their drinks, I managed to catch the eye of a waitress, as she finally got to he table the bearded man walked up behind her, she asked if we would like to order anything to which I replied we are still waiting for two cokes we ordered around 15 mins ago. At this point he pulled yep you guessed his third rude face sent her off to get our drinks, two bottles of coke out of a fridge about 15 meters from our table. He then brought them to our tables with the most ridiculously small glasses. Dumped them down didn’t say a word and walked of, at which point I said thank-you he didn’t even acknowledge. Place is on the beach lovely location and view, just damn rude old guy running the show by the looks of it. I would definitely recommend not coming here, the service was awful, this guy deserves no customers with that attitude. He also treated a couple next to us the same way after they had their 2nd round of drinks and asked for a menu but decided to eat. Avoid this place…

We were very lucky we decided to try Es Rico tonight- it turns out it's the last night of the season. My wife and I had a wonderful dinner in a pleasant rustic setting with a great vibe and lots of buzz. The owner and staff provided speedy and attentive service- no fuss but also took time to explain the menu and answer our questions. The food came out fast, despite them being full, and it was hot and delicious. We especially enjoyed the garlic shrimp, the calamari and the bread with basil spread. The octopus with chimichurri was tender and excellent. Prices were reasonable- we had four tapas and a main with two glasses of wine and a bottle of water for 65 €. We felt it was great value for the quality of food. Definitely recommend to check this place out when they open again in April.

Es Recó Bistro has a truly beautiful location with stunning views — definitely a place that feels special to sit and enjoy. The food itself was good once it arrived, well-prepared and flavorful. Unfortunately, the service let the experience down. My order was mixed up, so I ended up with the wrong dish. While the setting and quality of the food make it worth a visit, the service needs to improve for it to really live up to its potential.

Avoid!

Cannot rate the food, as we ended up not eating there, so this review is only for the ‘service’, or lack thereof.

Went for lunch with my 7 year son, asked for a table for 3 as my wife was joining in a few minutes. He said that there was nothing available and that they were all reserved. This despite the fact that a couple was seated right in front of us with no reservation, and there were many open tables. Stuck around to see what was going on as I was so taken by the rudeness / strange behavior of the host, and saw more couples and groups seated with no reservation.

I assume what was going on is that because I had a young child and my wife was not there yet he made some quick mental calculation that we were too ‘low value’ customers as we would not eat/drink enough. Jokes on him there, but whatever.

Regardless bad experience and very rude. Will...
