Sa Figuera Restaurant — Restaurant in Sóller

We visited this restaurant several times during a recent holiday where we stayed at the Hotel Es Port. The choice of food was good, the quality was good and the price was average. As hotel residents we had a 10% discount voucher for the restaurant. (The prices at most of the restaurants in the town were very similar.) This restaurant is in the grounds of the hotel, adjacent to the pool and as a hotel resident we received a 10% discount. There is a direct access along a path from the hotel to the restaurant and the gardens around the pool merge seamlessly into the hotel grounds. During day time the restaurant works as a pool bar and it is quite busy. In the evening it is more relaxed. The bar had a good selection of wines, spirits and beers at reasonable prices. Seating was good, with choices of bar stools, lounge area or more formal dining tables and chairs under umbrellas. Service was friendly and prompt and the staff were helpful in selecting items from the menu and recommending local wines. ¡IMPRESIONANTE!

He ido con mi prometido para celebrar nuestro aniversario. Me daba miedo que fuera muy caro o que nada me gustaría, ya que es un sitio pijo, ¡pero ESTÁ BUENÍSIMO! Y los precios muy bien. Todo casero, y muchos de sus alimentos de producción propia.

Lo mejor es la atención, ya que todos son muy amables, en especial una chica (se me ha olvidado preguntar su nombre) que era super simpática, ¡un amor de persona!

Mi pareja, al reservar, preguntó si podían poner un toque romántico a la mesa, y nos han puesto flores (reales) muy bonitas con una vela, un detalle precioso. ❤

Nos han traído (gratis si no recuerdo mal) dos panes (a cada uno). Un Pan normal y otro integral con Oliva negra, si no me equivoco. También, en vez de olivas y aioli nos han traído sal mezclada con Curry rojo y aceite de oliva (elaborado por ellos) para mojar el pan dentro. Muy bueno!

Antes de traer los platos principales, nos han dado un pequeño entrante gratis (lo dan a todos, y va cambiando). No me acuerdo del nombre, pero al verlo he pensado: "madre mia, esto tiene un aspecto muy raro". BUENÍSIMO! Ojalá estuviera en la carta!

De plato principal hemos comido la lechona y cabrito. Parece poco la ración, pero os juro que llena mucho! Muy bueno todo, aunque parezca raro, sobretodo para los mallorquínes, que estamos acostumbrados a la antigua. También hemos pedido patató de Sa Pobla, muy rico!

De postre hemos pedido la cheesecake y la tarta de Limón. Muy bueno! La tarta de Limón tiene un sabor muy fuerte, así que si te gusta el sabor a Limón suave, quizás sea demasiado para ti.

Después, como sorpresa, nos han traído una pequeña tarta con una vela y una decoración muy bonita, como regalo por nuestro aniversario, y una postal con una felicitación. ¡Me ha encantado!

Finalmente, nos han traído un último detalle gratis, que también dan a todos, que era como un mini bizcocho de plátano, super bueno!

Super recomendado!! También para los mallorquínes, tenemos que atrevirnos! Vos agradará!

Lo único que no me ha gustado mucho: La Copa de vino estaba bastante vacía, menos de la mitad, y la entrada al restaurante no está claro donde está, ya que en google maps lía. También, hay algunas escaleras que subir, pero bueno, si no tienes problemas de movilidad no hay problema.

The location is beautiful, staff are brilliant and attentive. However what let's it down is the food! obviously high quality cooking but at times lacks basic flavour. My suckling pig whilst delicious in parts (the pork was so tender) there was no sauce at all! , which it needed, and the skin was like leather (which the waiting staff also agreed but didn't mention it again). The skin should have been crispy crackling. Again my wife's slow cooked lamb shoulder whilst expertly cooked, had no sauce at all, it was therefore too rich and after a while unpleasantly dry. Needed a sauce and something sharp to go with it, also need a starch like potato or mash. Whilst I would possibly go back again, the food needs to be better. Also this place...
