We came upon this pub-like place whilst wandering around delightful Salamanca. They specialise in toast-based tapas dishes. We chose 4 - they were about double the size I expected! - ham and foie gras - anchovies - red minced meat - black pudding with quails eggs The toasted bread was extremely light and the toppings really well prepared. I would loved to have tried more from their long list, but 4 was enough. The waiter was efficient but completely un-smiling. He looked as though he really didn't want to be there - hence I've marked them down on the review. It was also very quiet, with no liveliness to the place. We enjoyed our food and drink and pleased we ate there. (Also posted to my food blog on Instagram @AbbeyKing16)

We just really liked Taberna for menu including many tapas selection, service (staff tries very hard to keep up during rush), ambience, location (couple easy blocks from Plaza Major). Drinks served outside of "food hours" each day. Evening meals start about 7pm. We were walking the neighborhood earlier so stopped to be sure of the time... Go early during meal times as it does fill up fast and in increasing cooler months not as many choose to sit at tables outside. Other menu items including tapas were fresh and varied. menu was reasonably priced.

Great wine bar, varied drinks menu. Lots of ambience but very busy as clearly quite popular. In terms of food, they specialise in tostas. All were quite average despite varied menu. Crusty bread with meagre toppings on top. Not horrendous though considering 2€ each on average. Definitely better places to eat in Salamanca but each to their own. The place was super busy and waiters rushing around, forgot two of the items we ordered.

Fabulous and creative assortment of tapas. A cozy atmosphere conveniently located near city center. Page after page of tapa selections, something for everyone ranging from the wonderful Salamancan Iberico hams, morcilla, fish of all sorts, cheeses and on and on. Very decent wine list. Friendly and attentive staff. Indoor and outdoor seating. Pop in, have a few tapas and a cup or two of wine.. you will be glad you did.

Excellent place that seems like a local secret. It is ALWAYS full (justifiably and why it’s a great spot) with locals but we’ve always found a spot by the bar. The wine selection is great and the tostadas are fantastic! Very big, very cheap and a great assortment. Friendly staff also. Definitely a favourite of ours.

Veerrryyyyy tasty toastadas. So much choice, from meat, veggie, fish. Definitely worth getting the pork and apple sauce, and the anchovies on roqfort cheese. Sounds mad. It is. Service was super friendly and the setting felt proper. Great value too (€2-3 per tostada). Lovely stuff all round.
