My wife and I had a meal at Botica last night. It was not too busy but still had an atmosphere. The man who served us explained that the tables on the edge of the terazza were reserved. He directed us to another table that was fine. We had the rabo de Toro croquettas and mixed grilled seafood to share. Big mistake having the croquettas, they were delicious however the mixed seafood was enormous. Easy enough for four people , not two. It was all really good and the service was excellent. We had a nice bottle of wine that was not too pricey and a bottle of water for € 60. Muchas gracias Botica.
My wife and I returned the next night and were seated by Sergio near a window overlooking the square. We were careful this time to only order one thing. We ordered the paella mixta. Sergio explained it would be 20-30 minutes and as we had wine and some bread we said it was fine When the paella arrived it was huge, fortunately we were both hungry and took our time. Sergio and his mother were very professional and discreetly asked if we were ok at regular intervals. They were both very patient with my Spanish and didn't bother to correct my grammar. I know I must have made some mistakes along the way. Altogether another lovely evening at Botica. It was our last night in Salobrena and it was memorable for the meal and the ambience of...
Read moreNot only a home-away-from home, but a favorite of every guest I've brought. My cousins loved La Botica so much (seafood brochette, paella, seafood soup, croquettes and fried aubergine with cane sugar honey were among their favorites), we visited every day! They even returned to say goodbye to Sergio, Sergio, Jr., and David because they made the dining experience so personalized and special. I've probably had everything on the menu and can recommend Every. Single. Dish. The chefs (and dedicated pastry chef!) are fantastic and the warm service (cannot forget Carmen!!) is another reason to return. Located in the historic Town Square, the atmosphere on the square is charming. Inside the restaurant, you'll be sitting in a historic locale: it was once the town's apothecary. Dine up on the Sky Bar and you'll have sweeping views of Salobreña, nearby towns, mountains and the sea. Definitely...
Read moreI love this place - I call in many times a week with my two yorkies after a 2 to 2 and a half hour walk - I enjoy the tinto de verano (the cerveza is good too) always with great (& free) tapas, which I share with my boys 😁 the staff are great, super friendly and really sweet with my dogs. Fantastic location, beautiful square with lots of history - read the pavings and the painted tiles for the history! Lovely fountain and a potable water fountain in a corner. There's also a sweet little artisan shop selling pottery etc, but also different local honey. The surrounding buildings are beautiful, it's near the Castillo and you can access the faldas del Castillo and paseo de las flores - worth a walk around! I feel privileged to live just down...
