Restaurante El Recreo — Restaurant in Salou

Had the menu, which was around €17 for 3 courses and a drink. The prawn cocktail was quite nice, the Cod Gratin was ok, a bit small though, and the cheesecake was a bit small and bland as well. I tried some of my partner's strawberry and cream, which was quite nice, though there was too much cream, not enough strawberry. The server was lovely and conversed with us friendly and casually and was incredibly helpful with arranging vegetarian options for some members of our party, going so far as to completely alter dishes so we could still have the menu. We visited this restaurant for lunch during May 2024 on our trip to Salou, and it was absolutely fantastic.

The service was amazing, from a warm welcome to providing a game to keep the children amused whilst waiting for our food to be cooked.

The food was top quality, best we had during our holidays, fresh and tasty, with great portion sizes too.

The only disappointment was we couldn’t come back before we left Salou, as they advised they were closed the next day! It was so good that we visited twice more on our return to Salou in May 2025. Honestly can't recommend this...

Last night in Salou and wanted a cozy little place for supper and found El Recreo around the corner from our apartment. The Columbian waiter very welcoming. The place is quite small and has a nice ambiance to it. The food very good. We had the bread with tomato puree spread on it @ 4 euro. They also gave us some olives to start with. For mains we had the grilled pork fillet with a side of salad and chips @ 11.95 euros. The wine was 11 euros for a bottle.
