I recently celebrated my birthday at Corcega in Spain with my girlfriend, and I must say that it was one of the most disappointing dining experiences we've ever had. The way we were treated was nothing short of appalling, and it left us feeling discriminated against and utterly neglected.
To begin with, my girlfriend and I, along with another couple who also didn't have a reservation, arrived at the restaurant at the same time. Surprisingly, the other couple was immediately attended to while we were practically ignored. It was disheartening to witness the stark contrast in the level of service we received compared to them.
The frustration only grew as we noticed that the other couple had their food served before we had even received our drinks. While they enjoyed their meal at a reasonable pace, we found ourselves waiting endlessly for each course. It took an astonishing 2 hours and 45 minutes for us to finally finish our meal and settle the bill, an unacceptable duration for any dining experience.
What added insult to injury was the disrespectful and rude behavior of the staff when we attempted to seek clarification or express our concerns. They outright refused to communicate with us, leaving us feeling unwelcome and disregarded. It was clear that they had no interest in addressing our grievances or providing any form of customer service.
What made the situation even more distressing was witnessing other patrons, who arrived long after us, being served promptly and efficiently. It was painfully evident that we were being treated differently, presumably due to our British nationality. This kind of discriminatory treatment has no place in any establishment, let alone a restaurant that claims to value its customers.
Overall, our experience at Corcega was marred by abysmal service, an exorbitant wait time, and disrespectful treatment. I would strongly advise against dining at this establishment if you expect even the most basic standards of customer service and fair treatment. It is truly disheartening to encounter such blatant discrimination and unprofessionalism in this day and age.
My hope is that this review serves as a cautionary tale for others, as well as a wake-up call for the management of Corcega to address the serious issues they have with their service and staff behavior.

Read moreWe visited here on a busy Saturday night in Salou (only because we couldn't get a table anywhere else). The restaurant was surprisingly empty given nowhere else could offer us a seat. We soon found out why. The service was very slow. We only had one course yet we were in the restaurant for nearly 2 hrs. The food was atrocious. I ordered the cod and it was bland and mushy. It was on a bed of gratin potato which was too salty and greasy. My partner is vegan and asked if one of the pastas could be made vegan. What arrived was a complete insult. A plain bowl of pasta in garlic oil. No imagination, nothing to try enhance it or make it appear special. It came with a side of tomato sauce. However there was a distinct taste of bolognese from the pasta sauce although the chef denied it had any meat products in it. Another diner at our table ordered a chicken dish with vegetables. The vegetables were a couple of slices of greasy aubergine, that didn't seem freshly cooked. The chicken was similarly unappealing. All 6 of us at the table agreed it was the worst meal of the holiday. We also didn't appreciate being charged €1.75 per person for the bread service without being asked first. I am quite surprised reading all the other positive reviews as it certainly wasn't anywhere close to our experience. Perhaps there was a staff issue in the kitchen on the night we visited. I could not recommend anyone visit here nor would I...
Read moreOn arrival we was told to check in before 8pm, with our flight landing at 7 we rushed from the airport and arrived at 7:45 to find that reception was not open. We collected our keys 20 minutes down the beach then was taken to our ‘apartment’ to find a small basement room full of dead Cockroaches and filthy floors. The room looked like it had not changed since the 1980s with outdated decor and sheets. |The bathroom was filthy with a consistent squeaking noise coming from the boiler, lights would flicker and a horrendous smell lingered around the room. Every movement from neighbours would echo and bang through the room during the nights making it difficult to sleep. With the room being in the basement of the building it was very warm, although a fan is not listed on the booking it would be nice to have had access to one. |Check out was at 9 am which we found was very early but when arriving at reception with our bags packed, once again, reception was closed. Reception was due to open at 9 so we sat and waited till 9:15 for a lady to arrive and check us out. When arriving there is a €150 deposit which we did receive back on check out but is a ridiculous amount to be...
