Restaurant Royal Grill Steakhouse — Restaurant in San Bartolomé de Tirajana

2021-04 Update: another 2,5 weeks in Gran Canaria, 10 more Dinners at Royal, so we're up to about 25 times. Every single time friendly speedy service, delicious meals, lots of variety, lovely extras for 'regulars'. We always enjoy it here and have no clue what type of people it must be who leave bad comments..

2020-12Update: we were here about 5 more times since my last comment and I stick to what I said: the best eating in town in this price class. Yes, there was an evening when they were too little staff which caused waiting times, but this is the Covid year 2020 and staff is tremendously difficult to plan!

2020-11 1st comment: Look, this is Playa del Inglés, and you won't find a better restaurant in this price class. After a few disappointments in other places with similar pricing, we've eaten here several times already and won't go anywhere else this coming week. They really put their heart in here. The quality, the taste, the presentation of every single dish from all various departments of the menu was perfect. ('traditional' meat dishes, tex mex, salads, veggie..) Plus it's the only place where the staff isn't running as though the stress was too much, they still find the time for a few words with the customers. (More so when you come more than once, naturally.) Tonight we got a snack from the house in the form of a 'pizza-bruschetta' : the pizza dough...

Amazing food, very well cooked, taste amazing and well presented 100% for food.. Service however leaves a lot to desire. The waitress was lovely and very attentive, sge seemes to me doing most of the work. Food delivery, making and delivering drinks. Clearing tables and checking customers were happy. Tye male waiter was rude and just couldnt be bothered. He started taking our order and suddenly decided something else was more important. After a few minutes he came back re took our drinks order and said i will leave a couple of minutes to decide on your food. We told him we were ready to order and he walked away. He came back about 5 mins to come back and started taking our food order then just ealked away again. He came back and continued our order, he started a converstion with another customer, so i said if its too much trouble we will just go some where else, so...

Last night in PDL and we decided eat in yumbo .picked royal grill. Sorry but biggest mistake . We had super dinners all through week but alas. Ordered fillet steak. Mediocre. Sauce 3 euro extra and was awful. Like a powdered sauce. The gourmet burger was awful A slab of frozen burger I guess. Definitely not home made . Chips lile re heats and I could be cruel and say left overs from another diners plate I counted 9 skinny chips. A child Porton chips anywhere else would be bigger . Orderd a glass house white and red sand charged 5.95 and I'd say 150 cl per glass. Overall extremely disappointed. I will say the girls serving were very friendly and polite . The restaurants alongside when we left the chips looked so good and each plate overflowing. We had planed a nice long dinner but was in and out...
