Ok so firstly the food was very good , if only the service matched the food I wouldn't have felt the need to write such a review. We came here after reading the positive reviews so were looking forwards to it. My wife and I were given a table , a dirty one and waited , and waited and waited. Eventually after 25 min we were given a menu , asked for drinks and had our table cleaned. The waitress admitted she had forgotten about us. We did note that certain tables were being VERY well looked after.
We eventually got our drinks and starters which we enjoyed , our plates were taken and then again the waiting began. We waited 42 minutes before we received our main meal and that was after my wife complained, the thing was as soon as my wife complained the waiter went in picked up our meals and came out with them , they had clearly been reheated several times. Now the waitress who forgot about us told us they were very very busy yet we watched other people being served multiple times before us and when my wife did complain the waitress had gone for a chat with a couple of people in the bar next door and another waiter decided to have a sit down and a drink with the table behind us. The waitress then came in and shared her family photos with the table behind us as well. This left one young waiter working who unfortunately got the brunt of our frustration.
We can understand friendly staff but please if you are telling us you are busy then at least show you are. When we finally did get our food my wife had seafood spaghetti and none of her clams were open, we were too hungry and fed up to complain again. We sat and watched multiple people come in after us and have their meals and leave while we sat and waited. We got a verbal sorry from the young man who my wife complained to and nothing more. In all of our lives we have never not left a money tip for any meal we have ever had , unfortunately this was a first and the only tip I can leave is sort your service out for ALL your customers...

What a lovely staff and restaurant this is! At the start (we came with no reservation) they immediately warned us and apoligised in advance; it was a busy night with two large groups and many full tables entering all at the same time. But no apologies needed. We had no hurry and we knew this was certainly not a fastfood restaurant. The little waiting times between the courses were convenient and nice to eat in calm 😁 enjoying each others company and the service was really nice and superfriendly. I (mother) was there with my 2 sons (13 and 17) and we had bruschetta and carpaccio for starters. Tasted very good! Maincourse was lasagna from mothers recipe and spaghetti bolognese and both tasted so good! On the plate of both sons, there was seriously no crum or drup of sauce left! 😂 For the desert a special (icecream and strawberries) and chocolate salami. They told us it was very powerful/fullfilling so it was maybe better to share with 2. Very glad with this advise, because it was. But again, tasted very good! With a complimentary little drink at the end we finished and we definitely can say we will come back! Best place in playa ingles to have a wonderfull night and a very satisfied belly 😋😋😋 Ps; sorry, no photos as we were too busy enjoying...
Read moreI would like to start off by saying that the food was very delicious and, initially, the service and atmosphere was lovely.
The real issue came about when my group wanted to pay, and requested that we would like to do so separately. The waiter, a lady who I can only assume was the owner, displayed her frustration at this by giving us a lecture about how much it costs for the restaurant to make separate card payments and even stating that she wouldn’t have given us complimentary shots at the end of our meal had she known that this would be the case. Since arriving in Gran Canaria, we have never had an issue paying separately, especially as we are a small group of 4 (myself included). Therefore, I found the lecture to be both unnecessary and patronising, as there was an unfair assumption that we did not understand proper restaurant etiquette.
We understand that, inherently, restaurants are transactional spaces. We also understand that running a restaurant is challenging and there are costs involved. However, the comment about regretting giving us complimentary shots (which we believed was an act of good will, especially as we had spent approx. 100 euros collectively) felt both rude and unprofessional.
It’s such a shame that what started off as a great experience ended on such...
