The food was good, the service was attentive, it was clean; it seems a fine place to go for a meal. Two things spoiled it for us: the music was much too loud, and we felt conned with the specials.

We weren't particularly close to any loudspeaker, but the volume at our table was much more suited to a music venue than to a restaurant. Chatting was an effort.

One understands and accepts that the specials are expensive, but above a certain price one also expects a heads-up, "These come at X per unit" or similar comment from the Mâitre d'. When the bill came to much more than double what we were expecting we discovered one of the specials was priced at ten Euro per unit and the Mâitre d' had suggested we order ten. This felt like a very dirty trick. Maybe we should have asked and it's our own fault for not doing so, but it doesn't look like the kind of place where they charge a hundred Euro for an entrée, and when they did I couldn't help but be disappointed.

Go, by all means, but do ask the price of...

A real disappointment. We came here because a friend living here recommended it. We booked a table and we've been told that we had to dine in the terrace. When we arrived the restaurant was empty. We haven't been told that the menu was a special menu due to Christmas (although we came to have dinner the evening of the 25th of December) which meant that the prices were much more expensive and with a limited menu. The restaurant was empty as I mentioned before. The asparagus were just coming from the fridge. The anchovies were nothing special. The main course I ordered was the lamb and it was cold and they even forgot to bring me he cutlery. They forgot my wife's mussels she ordered as seconds. I previously mentioned I wanted a glass of red wine with my lamb but they also forgot it. Really...

I was hungry, so I went to Salmarina. I ordered a bottle of still water and a mixed meat grill.

Few minutes later the waiter brought me a glass of beer instead of water. I sent it back and asked a water again.

I waited over 40 mins for my deal, when the young waiter turned up again with a mixed of grilled vegetables.

I told him, that I'd ordered a MEAT grill, but not vegetarian.

I asked the bill for the water and paid it. They wasted my time, I had to go to a different restaurant, and also they took the money for the water I consumed, instead of offering it for free the inconvenience.

I do not recommend that place. I was on my own, ordered 2 things, and the waiter was not able to note only 2 things!...

I'm surprised by the variable reviews given I've had two visits in the last week and enjoyed both immensely. Yes it's a little pricier than some of the others on the seafront but the quality of the food has been superb. I highly recommend it, and the managerJaime was wonderful on both occasions. So friendly and gave great advice on food options (despite being a Real Madrid fan but I forgave him). The beinmesabe is a stunning, subtle delight for dessert. And the pan tumaca was excellent. Even the bread and little dips were a step up. Do go there for a little treat.

Lovely stop from a walk from Puerto del Carmen to Arreciffe. A glass of house wine and just a snack of Tapas. Crushed tomatoes on bread drizzled with olive oil, and deep fried aubergine drizzled with Palm honey. It was delicious We were sitting in the sun, viewing the sea and beach. Inside there was plenty of seating, and there was a covered patio area which was sheltered from the wind. The toilets was clean. A good place to stop.
