Fierce staff. Strictly follow the conventions that a group of 2 can only sit at the table for 2 and not the table for 4, or else be prepared for a dressing down in the hoarse northern Spanish accent.

We ordered the Donostia baked spider crab (15.5€) and the duck breast with potato strudel with sour sauce (15.5€). Prices here are a little higher than usual due to the tourism surrounding.

The crab dish arrives in an interesting concept (literally inside a crab shell) with a mash up of crab meat and sauce. While the concept is interesting, the presentation is awful and unappetizing. At the first glance, it looks like a baked bread before really examining it to realize it is a crab head shell. In the mash of crab and other things, bits of crab shells and soft tissues can be found. I’d suggest to be extra careful when grinding your teeth into the soft textured mix and suddenly stumbling into a rock hard shell debris followed by an excruciating pain up your jaw. Better to have this dish as a sharing dish before it gets boring.

The upside here is the duck breast oozing with blood and oils. Superb dish that was well prepared with large salt rocks on the top of the crispy roasted skin and sour sauce for a nice blend. Add your sauce sparingly according to your own desired taste. To me, the duck on its own is perfect and at times a drop or two of sour sauce would be equally good.

Moscato is great as...

Do not go here. Was it because it was Monday evening? Why would this restaurant lower its standards so much? Found good reviews so went here with high expectations. Oh dear! Food was shockingly bad. I had croquettes and they were so average and then grilled prawns. No dressing of any sort on prawns. Very dry. The accompanying ‘salad’ was 5 pieces of dried up / brown lettuce ( from a supermarket bag? Shame on you) The prawns were so hard to eat I gave up. (No basin of water was provided to rinse my hands. ) Husband’s cod dish was swimming in tasteless soup. Including bottle house wine cost was €95. I couldn’t wait to get out it was so bad and staff were inexperienced and useless so could not understand our distress at such disappointing meal. Avoid...

DO NOT EAT HERE. The people who post positive reviews either do not know about good food or just care about location and atmosphere (probably not how you spell that). Don't get me wrong. Nice enviroment, good location, nice staff, but the food is a huge let down for the price. The squid in the salad is frozen and not prepared properly, also the salad was just some tomatos lettuce tuna from a can and poorly prepared octopus. The sirloin was nice, however it couldve done with more flavour and the potatos were cold. My ice cream cava dessert was terrible. Like other reviews said they forgot to bring the...

Do not eat here. The fish and clam soup had two clams and not even a piece of fish in it. It was a broth that didn't even have any flavor. The crab was a shell with some kind of mashed up stuff in it that didn't even taste like crab. I didn't even take a picture of the crab as I was so dissatisfied. Servers had no idea what they were doing even if at first we were alone, then two other tables came with a total of 8/9 people. Definitely paid too much as the quality was less than 1 star. The worst food I have eaten in a long time.

Outstanding high(er) end tasting menu for a great price. 37€ got me bread, wine, water, an appetizer of foie, monkfish filet, and a cheesecake dessert with espresso. Top marks on quality and taste. Would highly recommend checking this place out, especially because you won’t be dealing with a lot of the insane crowds you find elsewhere in Old Town.
