A Must-Visit Gem in San Sebastián – Sports Bar Delivers on Every Level! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

If you're in San Sebastián and looking for an unforgettable culinary experience, look no further than Sports Bar. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a vibrant atmosphere that perfectly captures the spirit of this beautiful city.

The pinchos here are simply next level – a creative and delicious fusion of tradition and innovation. Each bite is crafted with care and full of bold, fresh flavors. Whether you're trying their classic offerings or seasonal specials, every dish is a small masterpiece. Be sure to ask for the house favorites – they never disappoint!

What truly sets Sorts Bar apart, though, is the outstanding service. The staff are knowledgeable, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about what they do. And if you introduce yourself as Carlos ( because for some dishes you will have to wait) they serve you like one of their Best Friend. 😂 .

The atmosphere is lively , making it the perfect place for both locals and travellers to gather, share a drink, and enjoy top-notch food in great company. Whether you're standing at the bar with a glass of txakoli or settling into a cozy corner, you'll feel the magic of San Sebastián all around you. Their Cider beer 🍺 yummyyy.

Sorts Bar isn’t just a meal – it’s an experience. One you’ll want to come back to...

Unmissable (Dec 2024)

This place is absolutely exceptional. You can’t go wrong with any of the options. Donostia is known to be expensive, so it’s best to shift your mindset before visiting—otherwise, everything will seem pricey.

Grilled Foie Gras (pintxo): This is a no-brainer. You must try it. Highly recommended. Mushroom Croquette (pintxo): The béchamel is flawless, the breading is perfect, and the flavor is outstanding. Highly recommended. Sea Urchin (pintxo): it’s like having a conversation with god.

Atmosphere: the place is always bustling, but that’s part of the experience. On our last visit, it was a rainy and windy day, yet we noticed that there are brief 2-5 minute windows where things calm down slightly. When those moments pass, it’s back to being packed. Don’t let it frustrate you; it’s just the way it is.

Pro tip: be patient but proactive. Gradually make your way to the bar, respect the unspoken queue system, and know exactly what you want when it’s your turn to order. This may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s the way things work here.

Seating and indoor space are very limited, so keep that in mind when planning your visit. And, as a local tip: keep your glass or cup close to your chest—it’s part...

So good we went back here twice and would’ve went here a third time if we stayed in San Seb longer, it can be hard to find a table as it’s very busy so you may just need to stand and eat at the bar.

The sea urchin cream was #1 pintxos of the entire trip, creamy and umami perfect for dipping bread into, also loved the tender beef cheeks and mashed/whipped (?) potato, it tastes like the filling of a really good beef gravy pie, the crab crepe was also tasty but if we had to choose one seafood it would be the sea urchin.

They also serve foie gras over bread for a reasonable price if you’re into that!

Service is quick, friendly and very honest - we mistakenly paid with a bigger € note and the server pointed this out to us which was appreciated :)

Top tip though is to know what you want to order and be decisive, they are so busy and don’t have much time to spend on a single order so I’m sure they appreciate it when you tell them clearly what you want. They have menus in different languages including English and Japanese but a little Spanish still goes a long way, so...
