Cafetería Express — Restaurant in San Sebastián

We went to this place as there were not many open in San Sebastian serving menu of day at a reasonable price so we took a chance on this as it looked busy and full of locals. Unfortunately Spanish is not our first language but despite this the girls helped us get on the WiFi so we could translate the menu. They seemed fast and efficient and helpful and we got a nice and basic three course meal with a bottle of wine for 16 euros each. You're not going to be blown away by the food but it was perfectly acceptable to fill us up and the puddings were to die for...go for the carrot cake and you won't be disappointed. All in all a good find for 2 hungry...

I'm disappointed with the food. I took menu del día, €14, salad without olive oil, no salt,lechuce not wasched, I asked if it's meet free, then served with some chicken. Waiter changed it, they supposed to add tuna instead, but served with bacon! Main dish, dorada, was just tiny piece of half fish ,the size of 1 sardine, really, fried potatoes were tasty, but not warm, prepared in advance. The desert, cheesecake, tasted like cheap one from supermarket. Maybe they thought I was a tourist, but I live here and I can say that it was my biggest...

Me da cosa poner la puntuación tan baja, pero se salva por otras ocasiones, eso sí, antes que nada, recomiendo el lugar, se come bien y hay de todo, seguramente en un futuro cambiaré/modificaré la reseña.

Editado - 05/05/2021 Hace unas semanas, fuimos mi pareja y yo a comer, pero el camarero que nos tocó... casi nos muerde la mano hasta por decirle hola... además, creo que era nuevo, nunca le había visto.

De todo lo que pedimos para comer, la hamburguesa más cara, dijimos que las dos fueran sin nada vegetal, y nos lo trajo con todo...

Y a la hora de tomar el postre, muy... amargamente, no nos quiso dar la carta de postres ya que no estaban todos lo que había, pero aún así quería verlos, y nos lo dio a regañadientes.

Al final, al irnos, nos despedimos de dicho camarero y del camarero de toda la vida, que lo conozco de vista desde que me llevaban mis padres cuando aún iba a primaria, y lástima que no estuviera el otro camarero, que también es otro de los veteranos de dicho lugar.

En fin, me imagino que tendría un mal día, todo el mundo lo puede tener, pero no tenemos que aguantar los malos humos de nadie, ya que no hay que hacer lo que a uno mismo no le gustaría que...
