Goxo Poke taberna — Restaurant in San Sebastián

I think I'm going to be a bit of a hater of this place, because unfortunately (at least for me) this city has been changing in recent years and it feels like franchises and restaurants like this are the ones who are the "trendy" and most bought places as of now. To be honest, I do not understand the fuss, it is basically a mixture or normal ingredients you can buy at any grocery store these days and, whilst you get avocado or salmon, I think the portions are "okay" but even though the price ain't that bad, ask yourself this: are you REALLY coming to Donostia to try this? with all the traditional and good bars offering amazing food? If the answer for you is yes, then, that's okay, but again, I do not think these places should be at the forefront of "places to try" in Donostia.

I have nothing against the workers, who tend to be quite helpful and amicable, but this place is quite overhyped for me.

The products tend to attract people but in my opinion the food lacks flavour, even the sauces or the liquids they give you to season the "salads" are either too salty or too flavourless. Again, this is just my take, if you do not agree with me, hey, this is...

Terribly rude staff. If you are in San Sebastián looking for a place to eat I would recommend anywhere but here. The staff won’t look at you in the eyes whilst talking to them, be very sassy in their replies and dare you try to make small talk with them by saying “good weather today” they will reply “not my problem”. I rarely get offended by rude staff but this is definitely one of them. Bottom line: don’t waste your time here when you are in the capital of...

Hidden Gem~

We ordered three poke bowls — two salmon and one tuna — and they were all super tasty and fresh. The prices are very good for the quality you get. The owner is incredibly nice — he even added extra salmon for us for free! The place has a fun vibe too — there’s a swing inside that’s not just for decoration, you can actually use it. Great location and definitely a hidden gem in the area....
