Mecànic pizza — Restaurant in Sant Cugat del Vallès

I had a very big expectations about this pizza restaurant, it has an old style oven and all, but unfortunately it's pizza still have a long way to be perfected.

I order a pizza margherita and although the presentation of the pizza was nice, the pizza dough was too fluffy, kind of elastic in a way it just don't fit with the expectation raised by seeing a proper oven in the restaurant.

On top of that, in my opinion there was too much sauce on the pizza, it's not that good in taste with all that added moisture and also after a couple of minutes the pizza dough gets soggy with all that sauce.

Finally, taste wise, if tastes like a giant crépe, not the way it is supposed to taste.

I believe this was their first week, I'll give it a try one more time in the next couple of months, but today, it was...

If I could give negative stars, I would. We had it delivered. The pizza was falling apart when it arrived. We ordered a burrata, which tasted like a sock dipped in petrol. It was 11 euros and was a inedible. Was a ball of what might have been cheese (can't be too sure) with 10 spinich leaves. Maybe the other ingredients fell out of the box during delivery??? Also ordered the Cheese Cake, although they failed to mention it was made with Blue Cheese. I don't think it had started life as Blue Cheese but I guess maybe the fridge had broken some years ago and no one had noticed. The pizza tasted half decent, so maybe there is some redemption for Mecanic. However, it feels like I've just been robbed.

Great place with quick service, amazing pizzas, and fair prices. We went there twice to try different options and we were not disappointed. You can dine in, take it to go, or order online. Some of the staff speaks English and they have menu in English which is great since we've had some company visiting us. Definitely recommended for an italian-style pizza experience. Also, probably the best burrata pizza I have ever had. And they have loose leaf tea options which I found extremely rare...
