Best paella in ibiza Lagom Restaurante — Restaurant in Santa Eulària des Riu

I had a rather strange experience at this restaurant, and honestly, I don’t really understand why it’s so highly rated.

We initially wanted to order paella and were told it would take around 45 minutes, which is fair enough if it’s freshly made. However, since my wife is heavily pregnant, we mentioned that we might look at something else because of the long wait.

A few minutes later, the waitress came back and I asked to order steaks instead. She asked if we wanted the steaks in addition to the paella. I explained that we no longer wanted the paella because of the waiting time. At that point, she told us the chefs had already started cooking it and gave us a look as if we were being unreasonable for changing our minds in a restaurant.

Of course, we understand that misunderstandings can happen, and maybe she didn’t hear us properly, but the way she spoke to us felt very unfriendly and unprofessional.

In the end, she said someone else had ordered paella, so we could go ahead and order something else, which we did.

The steaks were fine (not special), but the unpleasant interaction really overshadowed the whole diner. For me, customer service is the most important part of any restaurant, and that was definitely...

We arrived and were asked to wait whilst they put a table together. The table was pre-booked and reserved for 9pm so not sure why that was not organised in advance.

The waitress was nice but could clearly tell they were understaffed tonight as she seemed quite stressed and frantic.

We were told the wait for a paella would be an hour so were advised to grab some starters whilst we waited. We ordered 2 starters to share between 4 people which took over 45 minutes to arrive. We would not have ordered any starters if it was going to take just as long as the paella to arrive.

Starters were very bland and the squid was over cooked and chewy. Bread and aloli - it was just a bowl of crushed garlic and completely inedible.

Paella eventually arrived and it was barely seasoned at all. Came with about 30 clams and a few small pieces chicken, tasted incredibly fishy. Maybe it was just a bad night for them but the service was so slow and the food ultimately wasn’t cooked well at all.

Nice service. But the Paella with black rice and prawns was very unpleasant. It tastes like fish waste slop. I had to pull someone's prickly paws out of the rice. And all this for 64 euros for two. We didn’t sleep well all night; our stomachs couldn’t digest it all. My husband vomited 4 times. But he also ate fried cheese, I don’t know what triggered it. The dish is really not tasty. Most likely the oil is of poor quality. We are on a clean diet, so our stomachs are not used to this. Guys, it’s just rice, make it high quality, not only tourists come to you, but also locals.
