Gastro Bar Grins — Restaurant in Santa Margalida

I have a mixture of positive and negative comments. Five of us were there a few days ago. A beautiful clean and fresh restaurant with a lovely manager. First of all he brought out bread rolls and banana chips with aioli. They were lovely - but assumed they were free gratis as we never asked for them. This was not the case - we were charged for these items. Only 2 of us ordered starters - it was like a prawn, avocado and cold mashed potato - it was gorgeous but too filling as was thinking of next course. Everyone loved their main course, 3 had different wok stir fry meals, one had a steak. All wonderful!! I however, ordered a seafood casserole, I was expecting all different seafood with veg and potatoes etc, but what I got was a prawn soup. Don’t get me wrong, it was lovely, so probably my fault for not knowing what a Peruvian casserole would be. The sweets looked lovely too. Would I go back? Yes indeed!! A great gastro bar in Ca'n Picafort. The decor is stylish yet simple, a relaxed place for a drink or a meal.

The food is a fusión of Peruvian and Mediterranean. We started our meal with a basket of bread with olives, aliolli and salsa, then we shared deep fried langostinos served on a bed of salad with tiger nuts.

We then chose Salmon a plancha with prawn sauce, cooked to perfection. The salmon was not overcooked and it was delicious served with spicy puree of cold potatoes.

My husband chose the ceviche of gambas with fried plantain and salad, again delicious .

We had a couple of glasses of house rosé (Murviedo) and a bottle of water to share. The staff are really friendly and the music was at a nice level where we could enjoy a conversation togetger.
