Booked a table at El Cielo the day before based on how busy and popular it looked. Big mistake.
From the moment we arrived, the experience was disorganised and cold. Waiters clearly didn’t know where to seat us, and eventually the manager came over and barked “Come” at us with all the charm of a traffic warden. He led us to a dismal table shoved next to their display of hanging cured meats – which, unsurprisingly, reeked. When I politely asked to be seated elsewhere, he initially refused and acted as though I’d asked for something outrageous. He reluctantly found us another table, but the damage was done.
From that point on, we were basically ignored. It was obvious he’d said something to the rest of the staff, who barely acknowledged us all night. Service was frosty, inattentive, and indifferent.
As for the food – utterly overpriced for what it was. I ordered the salmon, supposedly served with grilled Mediterranean vegetables. What arrived was a sad portion of undercooked sliced potatoes and a single sliver of onion. No seasoning. No flavour. No effort.
Not once did anyone check on our meals, which is basic restaurant etiquette. The whole evening felt like we were an inconvenience rather than paying customers. For a place that charges premium prices, the experience was shockingly poor.
Every night after, we made a point of walking past El Cielo to far better restaurants nearby – Bali and Bamboo are miles ahead in food, service, and atmosphere. I genuinely don’t understand how El Cielo continues to pull in a crowd.
A final note: it’s disheartening to feel unwelcome as a tourist in a place that should be showcasing hospitality. El Cielo could’ve been a highlight – instead, it left a sour taste in...
Read moreAwful scam of a place- never go there. They’ll try to rip you off massively and they’re incredibly rude. Andreas appears to be employed as the manager and is an absolute horror.
Charged €30 for half a cake and a glass of wine. Said they’d give me a box- left me waiting 30 mins- eventually came and said they’d refund the €30 and charge the actual €11 on top. Were hanging out chatting afterwards for quite a while so I said I’d leave the plate at the hotel- they said that was fine. I then had to walk back through 5 mins later as the shortcut has been closed- the first waiter finally gave me a box and I said I’d move it when I could put everything down. Andreas then followed me, was very aggressive, pushing me, and said apparently they’re not part of the hotel at all and the name and location are unrelated. Refused to give me half of the dessert on the plate. Absolutely...

I had an incredible dining experience at El Cielo. From the moment we arrived, the service was top-notch—friendly, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable, especially when it came to allergens. My sister cannot eat gluten and for her, as someone who eats gluten-free, she felt completely at ease. The staff knew exactly what she could and couldn't have, and made sure everything was safe for her without compromising on flavor.
The food itself was outstanding. Every dish was bursting with flavor, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care. You can tell the chefs know what they’re doing, and the attention to detail was impressive across the board.
Highly recommend to anyone looking for delicious food, excellent service, and a team that truly understands dietary needs. Especially great for anyone who is gluten-free. Will...
