Bar Tapas 53 — Restaurant in Santander

Found this tapas bar online and from the reviews and photos it looked right up our street. We were in for a bad surprise. The bar had around 6 people in it, 4 outside and 2 sitting at the bar inside, apart from that it was completely empty as to be expected on a rainy Thursday night at around 9pm. We walked in and asked for a table for two. The barman was downright rude and dismissive and said no straight away without an explanation. It is important to note that we also asked this in Spanish to make things easier even though this should not even be a deciding factor and we are the customers. Bar de barrio de ambiente turbio. Los perros campan a sus anchas metiéndose debajo de las mesas y ladrándote para que les eches de comer mientras los dueños de los mismos están de risas con los dueños del bar sin llamarles la atención. Nada para desayunar, solo café sin sabor y caro y si quieres comer o cenar, te ofrecen en la carta variedad de raciones, hamburguesas y sándwiches pero sólo hacen bravas y nuggets de pollo porque no abren la cocina.
